Dylan chuckled. "Well come on then, follow me," he said, gesturing for me to follow, and I did. I quickly scrambled after him and he walked towards our next class: History.

I walked into class with Dylan and we sat on tables next to each other. I grinned at him as I looked around the class, surveying the other students. No-one in particular seemed to pop out. As I returned my attention to the front, the teacher walked in.

"Good morning, class. My name is Mr Arrow and I am your History teacher this year," he stated, unpacking his things.

I groaned in annoyance at his boring tone of voice.

'This is going to be a long lesson,' I thought.

After the uneventful hour and a half called History, we finally got dismissed to go out for lunch. Heather, Blade, and I walked out of the classroom together and into the cafeteria to eat.

The cafeteria was, to put it mildly, hectic.

People were bustling about to meet up with their friends, find a table, and grab their lunch. There was also different elemental magic being shot up in the air.

I met Blade and Heather at the entry of the cafeteria. I grinned as I joined them, and introduced Dylan.

"Hey guys, I met a new friend in Water," I said, greeting them, "his name is Dylan."

Heather immediately perked up. "Hey Dylan," she chirped, "I'm Heather, Earth,"

Dylan smiled at her. I exchanged a knowing look with Heather, adding a wink. She blushed furiously and looked away.

Blade introduced himself too.

"Blade," he said.

They did their guy firm handshake bro-fist thing and clapped each other on the back.

Our little group made our way towards a free round table.

"So how was element class, guys?" I asked.

Heather's eyes lit up and she began talking animatedly about this new trick she learnt.

"So it's like this," she said, and placed her hands on the table. She started to dome her hands, grass forming underneath them, and put her fingers together, then opened them out like a flower, causing little flowers to pop out. "It's a miniature garden," she said excitedly, "isn't it cool?"

Smiling, I replied, "not as cool as this."

I picked up the garden with one hand, and called upon water from my drink with the other. Swirling my hand over the garden, the water created a dome around the garden.

I clenched my fist, freezing the water, then blew over the dome, willing myself to create a few snow sprinkles, but not enough to kill the garden, of course. The snow globe frosted over, as I handed it back to Heather, whose was in a state of shock.

Suddenly, a giant grin broke out on her face. "That, was awesome."

"Thank you, I try," I joked.

Blade chuckled, and shook his head at us. "Look what I learnt," he said.

Blade stretched out his fingers and closed his eyes. Soon, flame erupted on each of his fingers.

Heather and I yelped in shock, and jumped in our seats at the sudden heat, but then admired his glowing fingertips. "Pretty cool, right," he said cockily, but in a joking manner.

I scoff, drawing water from my cup and dousing his fingers. Steam hissed and rose from the contact of fire and water. Blade pouted. "You're no fun," he told me. I just grinned at him, as Dylan silently watched on.

"When attacking your opponent, you always look a weak spot in their defence," Mrs Smule said, "which is why defence very important. If you have no defence, you're pretty much dead," she concluded. "You can't always fight fire with fire, it's better to fight fire with water."

She sent us on our own to practise a few defence techniques according to our own element. I circled my hand while clenching a fist at the same time, creating a circular ice shield which should protect me from attacks.

I snuck a peek at the other water elementals and saw that they were doing the same.

Encasing myself in a glass case should seal me from most air attacks.

I couldn't come up with any more shields and hoped that it would get me through the first day alright.

"Okay, listen up fellas," Mr Rudd shouted, "in this lesson, we will be pairing up and dueling. Those who have attended attack class first, please move to the left of the field, defence, to the right."

I paired up with an Asian girl with short black hair. She had a malicious glint in her amber eyes.

'Oh no', I thought, 'crazy girl with fire, not a good mix.'

"You may begin," Mr Rudd yelled.

Almost immediately, the Asian girl started throwing fireball after fireball at me. Quickly, I drew water from the nearby pond, and created a water wall, so that each hit would be doused by water.

Screaming when she couldn't get a hit at me, she tried a different tactic. She flamed up her hands and started coming at me. I didn't know what to do, so I kicked her legs through my water wall. She tripped and faceplanted on the ground.

I let my magic go of the water wall, and the water splashed onto her, dousing her flamed hands.

"Time's up," Mr Rudd shouted. I thanked God, and collected the water off of the Asian girl. "What's your name?," I asked her kindly.

She looked up from the ground and snarled at me. "Charlotte," she spat, and walked away to find a new partner to torture.

Gee what's up with her?

A boy with purple eyes approached me. He had a sort of nerdish feel about him, but was incredibly good-looking. I almost swooned.

"Hi," he said. I turned around. "W-woah, um hi," he repeated. I raised an eyebrow, let out a small laugh, and looked confused. He looked away. "Hi, I'm Aiden," he muttered, not looking at me in the eyes.

"Josie," I replied, "nice to meet you." I gave him a smile, and hoped I didn't look as horrible as I felt.

"So, what element are you exactly?" he asked shyly.

He must be referring to my blue, grey, and purple eyes.

"Water," I answered, smiling.

"You may begin," Mr Rudd yelled.

I encased myself in an icy box, drawing water and moving my hands around myself, seeing that he was an air elemental. His punches of air had almost no effect on my box, except, after a few more attempts, they started to crack the front of my box.

Panicking, I called upon more water to create an ice shield as backup, clenching my fist and drawing a circle with my other hand.

Aiden had stopped throwing air punches, and started creating a small hurricane, big enough to lift me off the ground.

I hadn't prepared myself for this, and let myself be swept up. I created a water bed for when I would fall from the hurricane. No sooner had I done that, Aiden stopped the hurricane suddenly, and I found myself falling onto the makeshift landing pad.

Expecting to fall safely, I relaxed my magic and closed my eyes. When I didn't feel a watery bed under my back when I was supposed to, I panicked. I opened my eyes and my mouth to scream.

Water rushed into my mouth, obscuring my breath, and black dots invaded my vision. Moments later, I succumbed to the darkness.
