CHAPTER THREE

ALASTOR'S POV
🎸

Not again.

"Get. Away from me, Cale."

"Okay, okay! Chill I'm going." He spins around and starts walking towards the door in an overly-cheerful manner. Just as I thought he was finally going to leave, he turns back and grins.
"Remember what I told you."

Before I could yell or shoo him off he was out the door in a second and I exhaled in relief. My cousin's been pestering me all day.

"Okay guys, from the top." I clear my throat and sling my guitar over my shoulder, preparing to sing this new song me and the band wrote together. It's one of those rare times where all of us actually get to take a role and work on writing a song. Which I was quite happy about.

We had been in the school's music room for the past hour, just singing and hanging out. This is the only place I actually liked being in.

No distraction, lots of space and just with the people I enjoy singing and being with.

As I sang my part, I sang until I felt like my voice was pouring out every beautiful emotion onto each lyric. I feel so contented and blissful and I wish it was like this forever.

The drums join in and images of my family starts flashing across my eyes. I sing more heartedly, almost like I was going to weep. This, is what people don't see. My true self. They only love me for my talent, my looks, like always. It gets tiring and bothersome now that we're used to it. But I'm fairly glad that they can't see who I really am inside too.

I nearly pushed the mic over when I hear that familiar, constant irritating sound of that dang school bell. It sounded worse than my grandmother's voice when she sees me during the holidays.
All four of the band mates abruptly stopped our music and I inwardly groan.
I guess this has to wait.

I would be happy skip classes, but not today. Cale, my damn cousin, had made me do something which I accepted, just for the fun of it. It gets boring around here all the time.

We went for the usual classes, the entire time I had either been sleeping or fooling around with the teacher. I know they hate me around here, but who cares?

Lunchtime came in like a hundred years and I was the first to jump off my seat, and brisk walked towards the cafeteria where everyone was heading. Nigel and Van, the drummer and the bass guitarist had caught up with me as we made our way to our regular table, which was more or less in the middle of the entire cafeteria. Many girls would give us flirtatious stares or would bravely approach us to have a conversation. Just for the sake of the fans, we treat them as nice as we could because simply, they support us. Although it can be a little too distracting.

Gian, another guitarist in my band came later and joined us. He was probably making out with his girlfriend again. Isn't he so lucky to have someone a girlfriend? Not the sarcasm.

We sat together as we ate and chatted casually, while I at the meantime was actually waiting for Cale, wherever he is.

But even before I heard a familiar shouting from the cousin I know so well, I could already tell something interesting was going to happen soon. Everyone now had their eyes to the left, where I see Cale beating up a guy. He seemed like a new student since I've never seen him before, and he looked a little younger than I am.

I rolled my eyes. I couldn't care less for what was to happen, because I don't usually get involved with my cousin's business.

I shrugged but just before I could ignore the commotion, a girl, who I've never seen either, came charging at Cale like a furious bull. Her face was fuming red and she looked very, very angry.
