Ok my first recap. I know it's a day late but I didn't come up with the idea until today. From now on I'll try to post them directly after the episode. Remember these are my opinions on the episode so it's ok if you don't agree with them. Anyways... on to the show!

After 2 terrible episodes of Dance Moms: Candy Apples Edition and 2 tolerable Dance Moms “Chatters” we are finally back to regular episodes. We made it through the storm people! Since it’s been 4 weeks I’ll mention where we left off. Basically, Abby had Maddie and Chloe preform the same solo to shut Christi up. At first, it seemed as if her plan backfired on her, because Chloe won. However, after Abby “oh-so-sneakily” pointed out the judge’s error the announcer man ripped the trophy out of Chloe’s hands and placed it into Maddie’s. This was such a depressing 10 minutes of television that I rather not relive any more of it!

The show hadn’t been on in awhile because Abby was off filming Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, which is basically a show for Dance Moms addicts who need something to watch during the show’s off-season. While in LA, filming AUDC Abby invited all of the dancers to preform on her show. However, the mom’s decided that they weren’t going to go because Abby was always mean to their kids. Can we just backtrack for a second? You are going to make you’re child pass up the opportunity to preform as a guest/mentor on a dance competition show in LA because Abby’s mean to your kid? Abby’s going to scream at your kid regardless, so you might as well get a trip to LA out of it. Melissa being, well Melissa, brought Maddie to LA despite the promise she made with the rest of the moms. Why she didn’t feel the need to bring Mackenzie is beyond me. This caused a series of fights, throughout the week, between the moms. I look at it as a domino effect. In my opinion, it was a stupid pact to begin with. Maybe it’s just the crazy stage mom inside of me talking but, if I were Melissa, or any of the moms, I would’ve taken my kid to LA the first chance I got. I mean, come on it’s LA! The pact was pointless and ultimately would accomplish nothing so why bother with it? I was totally on Team Melissa during this argument. I love Christi, but there wasn’t a real need to call Melissa out and then she mentioned the whole “sleeping with the boss” thing again! Like seriously the first time she mentioned it I was like, “How does this apply with the situation?” It came totally out of left field and left me very confused. (I kind of went out of order, but I’ll try to stay on track from now on)

Let’s rewind back to pyramid. Nothing was really new. It was a very predictable pyramid. However, this time instead of just telling the girls why they were placed there, Abby asked the girls what they were doing/improving in while she was gone. Paige and Kendall both said stuff about their turns improving, but Nia wins best line of the night with, “I’ve been taking 4 extra classes each week.” Just the way she said it after Abby asked her in kind of a mocking tone was just priceless. I could imagine Abby thinking to herself, “Well this is awkward. She actually did something. How do I respond to that?” I could imagine the crickets chirping in the background. Go Nia!

Assignments! Abby gave Maddie a tap solo, Mackenzie an acro solo and (ready for this) Chloe a hip-hop solo. When I first saw the title of this episode I thought that Chloe would be doing the tap solo and Maddie would be doing the hip-hop solo. Abby would make it a “stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new” lesson. But, no! She thought to herself, “What is Maddie amazing at and what is Chloe not amazing at?” I’m not going to go to deep into the tap vs. hip-hop thing because I already created a very long rant about it on my message board. To sum it up: It was completely unfair and not ok. The whole situation Abby created caused me to loose some respect for her, just like the same solo incident. Abby announced the group dance and told the girls that they’d be portraying famous women who “died to soon”. Christi actually posted a picture on her twitter of the girls all in their costumes and asked us to guess who was who, only with the hint: they were all gone to soon. I don’t know if the rest of you took the test but I did and I got 4 out of 6.
