Friday, December 5th:

Louis was out of school for the weekend. Which meant no dealing with the stupid people that he calls 'friends'. This was his last year in high school before he was graduating. Which also meant that he was Footie captain for the high school league in football(soccer). They were getting ready to start the season up again and Louis was ready for sign ups. He was going to be the first one on the list. He was heading to his house when he saw a familiar blonde walking home alone across the street. He looked both ways before crossing the street and jogged in the way of the familiar brunette headed and blonde tipped boy.

"Hey Lad!" Louis said making the younger lad jump.

"Dammit Louis, every time. Would you cut it out?" He rolled his eyes. Louis got up ahead of him and stood in his way squinting his eyes at the boy.

"What?" He snapped.

"What's wrong with you? Your not the lad I've been friends with ever since primary school. What did you do to Niall Horan and where is he?" Louis said grabbing the taller boy by his shoulders and shaking him playfully.

"Geez, Louis I'm right here and it's because I just finished my exams and all the pressure is on me." He said worriedly. Louis rolled his eyes.

"You've always been the smarter one out of the two of us and you ranked top in your classes last year." Niall slumped his shoulders and grimaced at the bad memories.

"Yeah, and not to mention I got bullied for it." He mumbled. Louis' eyes saddened.

"But... That's how we became friends!" He said with excitement laced tight around each word.

"Yeah, anyways I have to go home and start looking for a job. My mum wants me off the couch and to start working again." Louis chuckled at Maura's statement coming from Niall.

"Alright mate, text me tomorrow to see if we can hang out. And tell Maura I said hello." Niall shook his head and laughed.

"Alright, will do. See ya." Louis waved him off and walked the rest of the way home kicking a rock between his feet.

When he got home he noticed that the family caravan was gone. Which probably meant his parents and sisters went out. He fished for his keys in his pocket grabbing them as soon as the cold metal came into contact with his fingers. He pulled them out and put it in the lock. Unlocking the door. He threw his book bag on the couch and went to the fridge to grab a snack. He grabbed the ham, cheese, and mayonnaise out of the refrigerator and sat it down. He grabbed a butter knife and a bread loaf. He unraveled the bag grabbing two pieces of bread closing it back up in the process. He grabbed a piece of ham and unwrapped the cheese from its packet. He knifed out a blob of mayonnaise and spread it on the bread pieces, putting the ham and cheese on top of the mayonnaise putting the sandwich together.

Biting a piece out of it, his eyes flickered over to the counter seeing a yellow note. It read,

Louis,
Your father and the girls have decided to go out to the park for awhile and maybe go out to eat. If you would like to come, I left the Lexus in he garage for you to drive. If not, I'd like you to go out and search for a job. Please. Your dad and I are having bill payments that need to be caught up on and don't have the money. We feel that you are old enough to start contributing to the bills to make life a bit easier. I was out at the bakery to get bread and they had a sign up needing help and also the grocery mart has a sign up but, I'd rather prefer the bakery. I heard Maura wanted Niall working at the bakery too. That would work out. Anyways, I left $35 on the table if you wanted to order pizza. :)
Love you,
Mum
