Kellin’s POV

Waking up in Vic’s bed and him sitting in a chair watching me sleep was a little weird but cute at the same time. I don’t know how long I’ve been sleep but I wasn’t feeling any better so it couldn’t have been that long, maybe a couple hours. When I looked down my shoes and jacket were off and I was propped up in Vic’s bed with an ice pack on my forehead. I turned over to the nightstand and saw a glass of water so I took a couple drinks, I felt so dehydrated.

“Feel better?” Vic asked.

“No, I feel like shit still. What time is it?” I tried to sit up but my back was hurting, that’s another symptom I can add to the list.

“2pm.” He pointed to the clock.

“Maybe I just need more sleep.”

“You’ve been asleep for 2 days.” He said. I looked at him confused. “Yeah, it’s Sunday and we have school tomorrow so maybe it’s time to go to the hospital.”

“I haven’t been asleep for two days.” I protested.

“Yes you have. You woke up a couple times for about 10 minutes then dozed back off and even then you were pretty out of it.” He said. If I’d been asleep for two days I definitely should be healed by now. But nothing has changed I still feel like I have wolfs bane in my system and I feel like I’m getting worse the longer I’m awake.

“I’m going to get better I promise. I don’t need to go to the hospital.” I tried to convince him but at this point I didn’t know if I was telling the truth or not. He gave me a worrisome look. A second later someone was knocking on his door. “Please you can’t tell.” I pleaded. He stood there for a second then nodded in agreement.

“One more night and if you’re not better I’m taking you to the hospital.” He helped me out of the bed then led me over to the closet.

“Hey mom.” I heard Vic say.

“Hey I was just wondering if you’ve seen Kellin, this young man’s brother, he’s here looking for him.” His mom asked. I knew it was Jet; he’s the only one that would leave the house and the only one stupid enough to come here.

“No, I haven’t seen him.” Vic said nervously.

“Well if you do could you give him a message? Tell him I said it’s not going to take time you need a miracle better yet a deal.” Jet cut in. He knew I was in here he probably could smell the wolfs bane in my system. I knew exactly what he was talking about when he said ‘a deal’.

“Okay If I see him I’ll tell him.” Vic said. I heard him shut the door. I pushed the closet door open and stumbled out.

“I have to go.” I immediately said.

“You’re in no condition to be going anywhere, look at you.”

“I’ll be fine.” I grabbed my jacket off his chair and slipped my shoes on then walked over to the window and stood there for a second trying to catch my breath, even the littlest movements made me feel like I just ran a marathon.

“Kellin just please get back in bed and rest for a little more.” He begged.

“I’ll see you later.” I opened the window.

“What are you doing?” he asked confused. I jumped out the window and landed on my feet then instantly fell to the ground.

“Kellin! Are you okay?” Vic asked yelling out the window.

“I’m fine.” I wasn’t though. I started to cough up that black liquid again.

“Don’t move, I’m coming down.” He closed the window. I knew I couldn’t let him see me coughing up that black gunk again because then he definitely wouldn’t let me leave. I began to crawl off his lawn and into the street. I looked around and saw a man walking down the street. I got up and slowly began to walk over to him, trying to keep my balance.
