"Brooke! What's the hold up?! I thought you were gonna come over at 1:00?! Hellooooooo! It's 3:30! Where are you?!" Yelled my best friend, Amber, over the phone. "OMG I totally forgot, but I think you will forgive me once you find out why I didn't come! AHHHH YOU SO OWE ME! Be there in 20!" I said while hanging up. I soon regretted saying that I'd be there in 20 minutes because if I had to be there in 20 minutes I won't have time to go home and change. "Shoot! I should've told her an hour!" I whisper to myself. Oh well! It's not like I've never been late before. I walk out of the mall, arms full of shopping bags from the various stores I went to trying to plan a new wardrobe. I climb into my white range rover, throwing the bags in the back. I'm not really sure why I chose the Range Rover this morning. My daddy got me two cars. I got my white Range Rover for my birthday, and I got my black Mercedes convertible for being valedictorian. Most people assume that just because my dad is filthy rich that I’m an airhead and I only want to party. I hate stereo-types, and I get so much hate because of them. Yes I’m rich and get a lot of stuff but I earn most of my presents. I was valedictorian and 1st in my class all the way through highschool and I was captain of the dance team, class president, Prom Queen, in the chess club, in the French club, and captain of the scholars bowl team. Almost all of my presents are well earned, but others still seem to think my life is absolutely perfect and come up with insane theories as to why I do well in school. Um hello? Has it ever occurred to you that I could be smart?! Ugh oh well! Not much I can ever do about that so I keep telling myself to just accept it and move on. In about 10 minutes I arrive at my house, hop out and carry all of the bags up to my closet. I walk over to the swim section of my closet and decide on a new, navy, vintage style swimsuit, a cream lace cover up, my gold ray ban aviators, and gold Tory Burch flip flops (swimsuit on side). I grab the folder that’s sitting on my desk and run out the door to my Mercedes. I decided on my Mercedes because not only is it a beautiful day, but also I am in a FABULOUS mood! Because Rosecliff, Georgia is a rather small town, I arrive at Amber’s in about 10 minutes. Rosecliff is commonly referred to as “the southern Beverly Hills”. I skip Amber’s front door and take the pathway through the garden to the pool. I love Amber’s pool even more than mine (picture on side)! Basically the only major difference is hers has a water slide, which I love. My parents are both world famous doctors so they weren’t taking any chances with me or my sister breaking any bones while playing on a water slide. As soon as I got into the gate I ran up to Amber, who was currently tanning on the tanning ledge. I stood there smiling like a complete idiot until she got up and came over to sit at the table. At this moment I don’t really care if I look like an idiot because I’m about to burst if I don’t tell her the news. “Okay so please explain to me why I owe you. This better be good since I had to wait on you for 3 and a half hours” said Amber in a rather annoyed tone. “Oh trust me honey, it is! Okay so you know how we’ve kinda been dying to go to Europe for a girls trip since we were like five?!” I say very quickly because of my excitement. “OMG YOU DIDN’T! NO WAY! OH MY GOSH BROOKE YOU ARE AMAZING!” she shouts while jumping up. “Well duh! Haha just kidding but yes! My parents surprised me with tickets this morning! We are going to be spending the next two months in London, England!” I say not even trying not to scream anymore. “AHHHHHH! I LOVE YOU BROOKIIIIIEEEEEEE!!” she squeals with excitement. “So when do we leave?” she asks, suddenly getting serious. “Okay so that’s where why I was late came in. Um…. well….. you see…. Um I know you always like to take like a week to pack, but we leave tomorrow.” I say the end really fast kind of hoping she doesn’t hear me. “Tomorrow?! Is that a joke?! I need a whole new wardrobe for London, we will be there for two months so I’ll have to pack a ton, I need to get some new makeup too because I’ll run out, wait where are we staying? What all are we gonna be doing? What all exactly will I need to pack? Do I need another evening gown? What-?” I cut her off before she has a heart attack from rambling. “My parents have already worked out all of the arrangements. We will leave at 12:00pm tomorrow. Come on we are going shopping now. I would be done shopping but you cut me off so I had to rush over here” I say in an attempt to calm Amber down. “Um I wouldn’t necessarily call it rushing Brooke.” “Oh whatever you coming or not?” I say and with that, we are off!
