Chapter Six

I sat on my bed, I had two hours until Eduardo was coming to pick me up and I had no idea what I was going to wear! I looked at my floor, it was covered with clothes, and it looked like my wardrobe had thrown up.

I ended up choosing a bright yellow summer dress and white sandals, I picked up my white cardigan on my way downstairs just in case it got cold but at the moment the sun is shining outside and I hope it stays that way. I sat downstairs watching some TV before Eduardo came to calm myself down, I was really nervous about tonight, he was one of the most popular guys in school and I was just your average student.

The doorbell rang ten minutes to six, he was early. I opened the door to see Paolo leaning up against the doorframe.

“Hello” he said while walking past me and into my living room.

“Paolo what are you doing here?” I said bluntly, I didn’t mean to be rude but he wasn’t meant to be here.

“Why? Don’t you want me here?” he asked with puppy dog eyes. I sighed.

“Of course I do Paolo but not today, I’m going on a date” I said the last bit quieter than the rest.

“With who?” he looked at me curiously.

“Eduardo” as soon as I said that his face dropped then he went angry.

“I told you to be careful, not go on a date with him!” he shouted and with that the doorbell rang. I really didn’t want an argument right now. I went to the door and opened it, Eduardo was standing there in jeans and a t-shirt very casual, he was holding a white rose that he gave to me. It was so pretty.

“Can you just give me a minute?” I asked him politely, he nodded then I closed the door. “Leave now Paolo, and not out the front you can go round the back, I’ll deal with you later!” I said angrily. He looked down at the floor then headed through the kitchen and out the back door. I grabbed my cardigan and opened the door again.

“Ready” I said as I walked out the door. Eduardo held my hand as we walked down the drive to his car. It was a black bmw, much more classier than Paolo’s car. He lead me to the passenger side and opened the door for me to get in, then he walked round to get in the driver’s side.

“Are you going to tell me where we are going now” I pleaded.

“Nope” he said and popped the ‘p’.

I folded my arms and acted like I was in a strop because I really wanted to know where were we going.

“Don’t be so stroppy” he said laughing, he then smiled at me and I forgot to breathe. His smile was breathtaking, his teeth were perfect and his blue eyes just glistened in the sunlight. I was in a world of my own.

“Summer?” I felt someone shaking me.

“What? Where? Who?” I said shaking my head.

“You fell asleep” Eduardo said to me, “Am I that boring?” he asked.

“No, I was just tired” I lied.

“Well we’re here” he said pointing to a small cottage. We walked up the old wooden stairs into the cottage; it was small and old but really pretty. On the wooden floor was a big, red blanket with a basket of food on it and candles all around, it was so romantic. He led me in and sat down on the blanket, he handed me some sandwiches then he pulled out a bottle of vodka.

“Want some?” he asked smiling. I don’t drink very much but I thought why not.

“Sure” I said. He poured me a glass of vodka and coke, there was way more vodka than coke but I didn’t care. I took a sip and it was very sour, I pulled a face and Eduardo laughed. That was all I remembered after that everything went black.

I woke up with a huge headache, I felt dizzy and sick. I rolled over and came face to face with Eduardo; I had slept the whole night in this cottage. I got up and almost fell back down. I tripped over the basket and made a big bang, Eduardo woke up.

“Hey” he said smiling while walking over to me, he hugged me from behind and started kissing me on the neck. “Last night was amazing,” he said. What did I do last night I don’t remember? I pushed Eduardo away from me and ran out the front and was sick! I’m never drinking again. Eduardo soon ran out.

“Are you okay?” he said rubbing my back. I felt terrible and I bet my parents were worried because I didn’t go home last night.

“My phone!” was all I said before spewing again. Eduardo went into the cottage and found my phone. I sat up against the wall of the cottage and looked at my phone. Ten missed calls off my mother, five off Paolo and ten texts off Paolo. Each text said similar things, it was all ‘Where are you, your mother’s worried, get home now and why aren’t you answering your phone’ I texted him back I’m fine.

“I’ve got to get back” I said to Eduardo, he nodded and went inside and got my stuff. We walked silently to the car. I felt ashamed, I never stayed out before and I still had no idea on what happened last night. We pulled up outside my house and Eduardo was about to get out of the car.

“I wouldn’t” I said, “Unless you want to die,” I said jokingly. He nodded and put the key back in ignition and as soon as I got out he drove off.

I walked slowly up to the front door, preparing myself for the rows and punishments I was about to get. I knocked lightly on the door, my head still wasn’t right.

The door opened and my mother was there with an angry expression tapping her foot and my father behind her sitting on the sofa with the same expression.

“I’m sorry” I blurted out.

“You better had been young lady, you had me and your father worried sick! Even your friend Paolo was worried” she shouted, I understood why Paolo had warned me now because if we did have sex, Paolo was right. My father then got up and came up to me.

“You are grounded!” he shouted in my face. I guess I deserved that. I slowly trudged up to my room. I lay on my bed and got my phone out to check if Paolo had text me back, he had. ‘I warned you’ was all it said. I knew he wouldn’t let this die. I hoped that I would never have to see Eduardo again, but I knew that wouldn’t happen we were in the same school! My phone rang, Paolo.

“Hello?” I answered.

“Hi can you meet me?” he asked. I really wasn’t in the mood and I couldn’t because I was grounded.

“I can’t I’m grounded” I said.

“Oh okay” he said and then hung up, how rude!

My mother soon came up to my room. She said on the end of the bed and looked at me.

“Summer, I know you’re not normally like this, what happened?” she asked me, with her green eyes looked straight at me, I avoided her glare.

“I fell asleep, no big deal” I said lying because I actually passed out. She put her hand on my leg and nodded, she then left. Soon the doorbell rang, I tried to listen to who it was. I had nothing better to do; my parents had taken my iPod and laptop away from me. I recognised the voice but couldn’t tell who it was.

“Summer, there’s someone at the door for you” my mother shouted up the stairs.
