I looked to Warmkit as he licked my brown, curly fur back to it actually looked good. It was still dark out and I had just came back from exploring. Both Warmkit's and my mothers were asleep so they wouldn't find out.

"You have to stop doing this." Warmkit warmed me after he finished getting all the sticks and leaves out of my fur. I slightly pawed at him and he growled playfully at me.

"It's so fun though! You should come next time. Then we could wander the woods forever!" I purred to him. He was my best friend and always would be. He rolled his eyes playfully as I leaned against his golden fur.

"You know we can't. We are only kits." He told me as he licked my ear. He was a lot taller then me so he had to bend down to lick my ear. I looked up to him and stared into his blue eyes.

"I don't care. I have to know what's out there. I feel like a part of me is out there." I told him. I really felt like a huge part of me was out there in the wild. That's why I had to go out there.

"Wolfkit that's stu-" Warmkit tried to tell me but I cut him off quickly.

"Warmkit! You don't understand! I have to be out there. I can't even wait three more moons. I'll go crazy. Please Warmkit, you have to understand." I snapped at him in the beginning but lightened up in the end. My brown eyes were begging him to say okay.

"No, I can't do this." He said and got up making my stumble a little.

"Can't or won't?" I snarled at him getting angrier at him by the second. I could feel the tears pricking my eyes.

"I won't. You have to understand Wolfkit. We are just kits and can't be out there." Warmkit looked at me once more before he turned his back to me and headed to the leader's den.

I panicked. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't be caught by the leader. I had to get out. I ran out of the nursery and made sure no one was looking before I slipped out of the camp and started to run. It felt good to have the grass under my feet again. I just wanted it always to be like this. I closed my eyes and let my paws do all the work.

"Hey! Stop!" A yowl broke from in front of me. I quickly opened my eyes and saw a brown tom on the other side of a river. My paws were still running. I tried to slow down but couldn't.

"Help!" My pathetic yowl for help sounded out. The brown tom watched me for a second.

"Jump. I'll catch you." He said watching me. He was crazy. I would never make it across the rushing river that was almost in front of me getting ready to drown me.

I had to believe him. He was my only chance of living if my paws wouldn't slow down. I braced myself for the worse and as soon as I got to the edge of the land I jumped with all the force I could. My brown eyes screwed shut and I took what I thought would be my last breath.

Then I collided with something. I wrapped my paws around it not wanting to let go. I opened my eyes and saw that I was clinging onto the brown tom that had told me to jump before. I felt my fur getting hotter and let go of him.

"Sorry." I mumbled and looked at the brown embarrassed that I had done that in front of some one.

"Hey, it's fine. You're alive aren't you? I'm Dustpaw by the way." The brown tom smiled cheekily and started to walk into the forest. I was scared to be alone so I quickly followed him.

"I'm Wolfkit. Where are we going?" I asked him as we walked around some more. Nothing looked familiar from when she had walked around before.

"To AshClan camp. I would take you back home but then my leader will probably have my head." Dustpaw sighed as he looked down to me. He had deep brown eyes just like me. I smiled a little trying to look on the bright side of this.
