Every little sound made the skin on my arms go straight up. I kept turning to look only to find nothing. Mom and dad were in the other room unconscious... There was a painful and strange noise.... Mom had a muzzle on... The images kept replaying in my head. I jumped up from my seat when I heard the door creaked open.

"Christ, what in the world happened here?" A voice said. I stood up from my chair when I heard the familiar voice. I walked over to the door opening it slowly seeing them in the front room. I opened it completely walking it. My dad had started to regain consciousness.

"Oh good, you're safe." The second voice said looking up at me. I nodded still stunned from what happened earlier. My dad started to try to stand up. "Lee, I would stay on the ground for now. You have some glass in your arm. Let me help."

"Chubs? When did you get here?" My dad asked looking up at him. Chubs knelt down next to my dad grabbing a pair of tweezers to get the glass out.

"Ryker called us telling us what happened." Chubs explained. He looked up at a girl around my parents and Chubs age. "Vida, can you go help Ruby? Tell me if she has any major injuries." She nodded walking over to my mom. The first thing she did was take off the muzzle throwing it to the side.

"What was that noise?" I asked after a moment of silence.

"Ryker, your parents are going to have to tell you more once they wake up a little bit more, okay?" Chubs asked. I nodded. "For now, why don't you and Caralee go to your room for a little while?"

"But I-"

"Just for a few minutes. We'll come get you two when we're ready, alright?" Chubs asked looking up at me. I sighed and nodded. Caralee and I walked silently to my room not say anything for a few seconds. She was the first one to speak up.

"So, what really happened in there?" She asked looking at me as I sat down on a chair near my computer. Caralee literally looked like a mini Vida. It made sense, Caralee is the daughter of Vida and Chubs except she looked a lot more like Vida then Chubs.

"Honestly, I have no clue. I didn't see anything, I just heard everything." I explained. She nodded playing with her thumbs as we went back to another awkward silence.

"I'm sorry that you have to be home schooled."She said breaking the silence. I just shrugged, I didn't really want to talk about it.

"It's fine, I just don't get why I have to be. It makes no sense." I replied.

"They're just looking out for what's best for you."

"I know but you're a blue and your parents still let you go to school."

"Yeah but maybe it's not because of who you are. It's because of who they are. They did free most of the rehabilitation camps."

"Your parents were an important part of that too you know."

"Well, Liam and Ruby seem to be a higher target for the skip tracers then my parents are." Did she say skip tracer? Every time I  hear the name, my parents avoid the conversation.

"By any chance, can you tell me what skip tracers are?"

"They're basically like PSFs except they get paid for turning whoever they turn over to the government. My dad checks regularly to see what they're up to. The last time he checked, Ruby's price had gone up to over 700 million dollars. They're getting desperate." So those are what my parents didn't want me knowing about...

"Did your parents tell you they were going somewhere this weekend?"

"Yeah but they just said they were going on a little trip. Why are your parents going to?"

"I overheard them. Apparently, they're going to free the last rehabilitation camp."

"I thought they said there were none left."

"They did... maybe they were trying to protect us..."

"That would make sense, I mean why wouldn't they-" Caralee stopped when my door opened. My mom stood in the doorway.

"Caralee, would you mind if I could talk to Ryker alone?" She asked. Caralee nodded getting up and walking out. My mother sighed closing her eyes for a minute before walking over to me and sat across from me. She took my hands making me look at her.

"How come you never told me about skip tracers?" I asked her.

"She told you didn't she?" My mother asked. I nodded. She laughed halfheartedly looking away from a second. "You have to understand I was doing it to protect you. If skip tracers found out I had a child, you would be one of their main targets."

"If skip tracers are really that bad, then why did that girl just leave as soon as I told her to?" I asked. My mother looked surprised by my question. It was as if the whole world seemed to freeze and all she could do was look at me.

"You told her to leave and she did?" My mother asked.

"Yeah, it was after the third noise, she must've heard me scream and-"

"Wait, you heard all three noises?" She asked. The concern in her voice worried me to no end. It wasn't like I killed someone or anything of that caliber! But yet, here my mother was, staring at me as if I had just told her I killed someone. The color had drained from her face as I nodded. "That's not possible, the first and second you should've been able to hear but you would have  to be- Liam!" My father came running into the room, equally as frantic as my mother.

"What's wrong?" He asked quickly. I watched as tears formed in my mother's eyes as she stumbled through her next words.

"Ryker- he's... he's..." My mother was having trouble finishing her sentence. My father looked at me worried as if I was hurt but I was perfectly fine. I didn't understand what my mother was trying to say.

"He's what?" My father asked her quietly holding her against him in a tight embrace. My mother choked back a sob.

"He's orange." That was the last thing I heard before the entire world went black.
