3rd Person P.O.V
"Kibum, no! That's dangerous!" Empress Kim yanked her son away from the rose bushes that were littered with thorns. Kibum's silver eyes averted from the crimson flowers to meet his mother's protective expression. The empress saw the questions in his blind eyes, as if he's asking her why she's treating him like a child. Kibum spoke with attitude and irritation. "Why am I always treated this way? Even my own mother can't see that I don't need to be forcefully overprotected 24/7!" He pushed away from her before she could say anything else and ran straight to the House of the Flying Boar, where he originally resided. The roof tiles were made of jade that were accented with shimmering bronze at the ends. The walls were off white and the frames of the sliding doors were a glossed oak with earth symbols decorating them.

Ignoring the pleas of "Halt! You mustn't run without your guards!" and "Prince Kibum, stop! You'll hurt yourself!" Kibum headed straight for his room on the fifth floor of the castle. He hated where it was constructed. Yes, you can see the beautiful view of the village and feel the breeze caress your cheeks in the silence of the night, but the purpose was for Kibum to be unable to sneak away to wherever his heart wants him to go. He's like a strong yet delicate hawk in a cage that weighs down his entire being. His feathers are gorgeous and daring, but his impaired vision keeps him locked up in that same cage wherever he goes. Kibum never wanted this and he didn't need it either. Hence why he hates his own parents the most out of every overprotective thing in his life.

He sat on his bed and gazed out the window. Silent streams of tears made their way to his chin before a single drop fell into his lap, safe from all the impurities in his own home. The wind started to pick up again and ever so softly brushed his blonde hair. (Imagine kibum with silver eyes)

"I never wanted any of this. Not this jade silk robe, not their gifts, not their protection, not these riches, not this family, not this life." Kibum heaved a sigh as he laid his head on his window sill. All that anger and frustration he had with his blindness was already enough. His parents make it worse.

"Why...?" Kibum uttered through his gritted teeth.

His fists balled when more tears fell from his eyes. Letting out a hiccup for air as he harshly slammed his hands on the sill. He lifted his head and yelled out of the window.

"WHY ARE YOU SO CRUEL TO ME?!?!"

Crows and birds fearfully flew out of the trees with their ca-caws shadowing their movements. The young earth bender laid down on his bed, curled up into a ball and cried himself to sleep.

'Please...Someone hear and trust me....

...please...'

Just then, Kibum awoke from the flapping of wings. Sitting up and facing his window, he spotted a "Diamond bird" at his window. His earth bending allowed him to see that the bird's head was changing direction frantically as if he was looking for something. Then it dawned upon the blonde that the bird was indeed, blind. However, it had the inteligence to know that Kibum was there, so it fluttered onto his lap. Kibum tried to pet the bird, only to get pricked on his finger by the little beast. "Ouch! What was that for?" The bird wasn't frightened in the slightest at all. Though, the bird started to glow and formed into a small gem on the prince's forehead. It infused with his skin, making him wince in pain. He raised his hand to his forehead to feel the gem and suddenly felt drowsy and tired. His arm fell weak and so did his body as his senses faded away ("vision faded to black").
