As I sit here in utter despair
People attempt to compare
Like they know what it's like to not want to breath
Like they know what it's like to want to constantly scream
Like they know how it feels to be so below
That they themselves don't even know
Like they understand how people can feel down
Like they understand how it feels to dream of hitting the ground
Like they understand how strong your pain is
Like they've felt it from your own skin
People want to compare
But they're so unaware
That we are far from the same
That we don't do this for the fame
But entirely out of shame
So tell me you know what it's like praying to God that you won't wake up tomorrow
Tell me you know what it's like to walk a little slower in the middle of a busy street
Tell me you know what it's like to hate yourself entirely
Tell me you know what it's like to see a mirror and only see it in horror
Tell me you know the feeling of the self inflicted physical and emotional pain
Tell me you know what it's like to fall in love with shiny metal objects
Tell me you know what it's like to think about white sealed bottles and goodbye letters
Tell me you know what it's like to barely be able to utter one word
Tell me you know what it's like to not even be able to simply smile
Tell me you know what it's like to be me
Tell me you think that we teens have it so easily
Tell me you understand that we're not the same
Because you and I are playing too very different games
