Standing in the doorway of the clinic, I flicked on my Pewter.  I cycled through the security-camera feeds for the area.  The coast was clear.

I tilted the brim of my cowboy hat down to shield my eyes from the sun.  They were still sensitive to the light, and my new face was itchy in the heat.  I tried hard not to scratch it, like the doctor had warned me.

Owen Stewart was gone forever.  He was a simple reporter and a model citizen.  There was no way he could ever fight a revolution and overthrow the government, but I figured John Wayne just might be able to pull it off.

I stepped into Freeman Plaza, ready to get to work.

End Note:

Here ends Owen Stewart’s story, but not the story of New Hollywood.  There are more ideas for other situations and characters, but stories still have to be developed for them.  It may take a little while for the next one to appear, but it will happen.
