Chapter V: Pain is a delusion.

I open my eyes and a huge sense of loneliness takes my breath. My hands begin to tremble. The thought of my father and Wakaba's dead hit me hard. I get up and walk outside the guild. The sky is cloudless and the sun is shining as if we weren't fighting for our lives yesterday.

"Romeo." Someone says behind me.

"Natsu." I smile. He's taller than five years ago and he's more muscular. His hair is shorter than ever but it's still spiky.

"Are you fine?"

"Yeah. It's just... I thought I could see my dad again."

"I see. I'm sorry, Romeo."

"Don't worry. Let's have breakfast."

We passes his arm over my shoulders and we walk to the bar. Laxus is sitting on one of the stools and Bickslow is drinking something next to him. Mira is behind the bar like she used to do years ago and her brother is sleeping soundly over one of the tables.

"Why is he sleeping there?" Natsu asks.

Laxus shrugs and smiles.

"I think Ever kick him out of the bedroom." Bickslow answers while he stands up. Laxus grabs his wrist and glares at him. "Keep calm, Laxus. I'm just going for a walk. "

" You were dying yesterday. You could get worse and I need you to be able to fight. They could attack us again." Laxus said. He was looking worried.

Natsu and I exchanged a glance as the two friends glared at each other. Mira looks at them and touches Bickslow's shoulder. The bluenette looks at her and smiles. Mira smiles back and nods.

"Why don't you wake Wendy up?" The white-haired girl asks. "Porlyusica wants to check you up. I'll meet you in the infirmary."

Bickslow nods and leaves the room. After thirty seconds of awkward silence, Laxus sighs and grabs his head.

"Are you okay?" I ask. Mira looks at him worried. "That was..."

"Yeah, I know. Don't worry. We'll fix it later." The blonde guy says.

I nod and sit next to him. I grab Bickslow's drink and take a sip of it, but it makes me cough. Laxus pats my back and I stop coughing after a few seconds.

"That shit is intense." I say with my eyes full of tears. "How can he handle it?"

Laxus and Natsu start laughing soundly and Mira smiles at me while she cleans the bar. Elfman groans and stands up, then he mumbles something and leaves the room.

"Morning Elfman." Natsu says with a smile but the white-haired man has already disappeared. "Maybe we should meet the others. I need action."

"Let's go." Laxus agrees.

The four of us leave the room and walk towards the waiting room. Some of our mates are already there so we wave and enter. Gajeel is sitting on one of the sofas with Levy by his side. Natsu leaves my side and hugs Lucy, who was calmly talking with Levy. I smile and sit on the floor with my back against the wall until Erza, Jellal and Juvia enter in the room.

"Porlyusica want to talk with us. About your magic levels." Erza says while looking at us. "The others are already at the infirmary."
