Chapter III: Saving some lives.

Two days have passed since the return of the kidnapped members of the guild and since they have split in different groups, the guild is lonely. I'm sitting in my office and First is here. She is working in our strategy while I try to contact with our undercover member in the other army through a modern gadget that uses some communication microlacrimas.

"He doesn't answer, does he?" Mavis says. I nod. "We shouldn't have let him do it. It's really dangerous and we haven't listened any news from him in two weeks. Maybe they've caught him."

"First. We need to keep calm. He wanted to save Wendy and if it meant risking his own live he didn't care at all about it. Besides, if they dare to hurt someone else from my guild, I'm gonna kill 'em all."

Mavis nods and leaves the room. After a few minutes, there's a knock on the door and Mira enters in the office. Her hair is pulled back in a long braid and her fringe is falling over her eyes. Her clothes have changed too. She is wearing black jeans, a grey tank top and a bulletproof vest. Despite her tough appearance, her eyes are as kind as always.

"Mira." I say. "Any news?"

"Yes, Master." She says firmly. "The Scout Team have returned from their mission. The enemy's camp is set two kilometres away to the east. Near the forest. "

"I see. The battle is coming. Go call the exceeds. I need to talk with them."

The white-haired girl nods and leaves the room. After a few minutes, she returns followed by the three cats. They look at me cautiously.

"Do you need our help?" Carla asks. I nod.

"I need you to go to Quatro Cerberus with Cana. You must alert her about the imminent attack to Magnolia and the return of Lucy and the others." The exceeds nod in agreement. "Then, you need to stay there until the attack ends."

"But I can fight!" Lily protests.

"I know, Lily. But if they attack us with something that can drain our magic, your life will be in danger and I can't lose you too."

"But." Happy starts to say. "Natsu? And what happens with Lucy?"

"Sorry Happy. But I need you to do this job." I say sadly. "You should leave tomorrow morning."

The exceeds nod and leave the room. I cover my face with my hands and stay like this for a moment. The door bursts open, scaring the crap out of me. Freed is in the door with Levy.

"What the hell, Freed?" I yell. "You've scared me."

"Sorry, Laxus. Levy and I have finished with the runes. Bickslow is taking the first watch around the city." Freed reports.

"Is he alone?" I ask. I'm worried about them but especially the ones who have been so bad injured. Freed nods. "Please. Tell Lisanna to go with him. She's the only one who can fly and if something goes wrong, she'll be able to call for help."

"Fine. Levy and I will get some sleep now. We'll be in the infirmary if you needs us."

I nod and they leave. Maybe I should get some sleep too since I haven't got any sleep for about a day and a half. I close my eyes and fall asleep.

"Laxus! Wake up!" Someone shouts in my ear.

I lift my head and my eyes meet with Mira. She seems worried. I get up and follow her without saying a word.
