KITANA POV

I walked in the party and turnt that bitch up like I owned that shit lol. Travis Porter's "Ayy Ladies" came on and the whole crib went craaaaaazy! I'm happy as hell I took that nap before we came because I'm known to turn up VERY hard at every party I go to. Whilst I was twerking on my on-again, off-again boyfriend Katrell, I couldn't help but notice Iman and Donnie chopping it up. He really seems to like her....and she with him. Now, I love my homegirl Iman to death, but I have to say that I am very envious of her. She's never really had to struggle for much, she gets top notch grades, and she's classy with everything she does. Iman gets everything so easily and I don't. I'm not attracted to Donnie mentally, but I just want to know what he's working with physically. I mean, I've been to every single group home with him, seen every single fight he's had, and I love that nigga hella hard because we're just so tight to death! Iman looked over at me and waved. I waved back. I love my best friend, and I know she's a shy girl. She likes Donnie a lot, and I can see them in a relationship together. I don't want to kill a good thing, but I've been wanting Donnie to kill my kitty for the longest!

IMAN POV

I wasn't feeling the music they played at this otherwise jumpin' ass party. Donnie and I were talking, talking, and talking some more! It was as though we had known each other our entire lives. Nah, that's crazy. The DJ changed the music and I immediately changed my mind about the music.

DJ: Man, let's take it back.

Musiq Soulchild's "Just Friends (Sunny)" came on and I started jamming in my stool chair. Donnie laughed at me, and pulled me out of the chair.

Me: Donnie! What are you---

Adonis: You supposed to dance standin' up, girl!

We laughed and moved to the middle of the floor. We looked at each other, smiling from ear to ear and danced until....

BOW! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Gunshots! Damn, damn damn! Donnie grabbed me and Kitana (who was drunk off two shots of Grey Goose, a shot of Jack Daniel's, and a Ciroc candy bowl) and we ran as fast as we could to our car. We got in, drove off, and grateful that we got out of there in our lives. Always something with dudes: fighting over a girl, fighting over a pair of Jordans.....childish as shit.

Adonis: Ya'll want me to drop you off back at our building?

Me: No. Can you drop me off at home? I'll give you directions.

Adonis: Okay.

He made a u-turn and took a right somewhere else.

Me: Where are you go--

I sat back and laughed as we pulled up to the police station. Donnie got out, jogged in the building and out came Detective Khaleed Chirqui, Kitana's father. He is the single father of nine children, and Kitana is the fifth of those children. All of her siblings have done pretty well for themselves and she's the family's black sheep - always getting arresting, always drinking herself silly (despite my attempts to stop her), and spending time in and out of group homes when Khaleed lost custody of her when she was younger.

Khaleed: Hey there Iman, how ya doing sweetie?

Me: Fine, sir.

Khaleed: Let me guess, she was drinking herself silly again?

Me: Yes.

Khaleed: Swore up and down she was gonna stop after drink number two?

I nodded my head.

He smiled at me, frowned at his drunk, passed out daughter and dragged her out the car.

Khaleed: Girl has always been a handful, I swear....have a good night.

Donnie was driving in reverse, and went forward driving to my house. I burst out laughing hard.

Adonis: Haha...what? I wasn't about to have her ass drunk and throwing up all over my brand new car.

Me: I feel you. I packed my overnight bag in the trunk when she wasn't looking because I wasn't about to clean up her vomit for the 477th time.

Adonis: You keep count of all the times you cleaned up after her?

Me: Yes....I'm very resourceful, you can say.

Adonis smiled at me. His eyes went wide as he saw my father's house.

Adonis: What the? And you spend all your time at Kitana's because why now?

Me: I don't live here alone, Adonis. I live with my father.

Adonis: Damn, who is your Pops? Jay-Z?

I laughed and shook my head no. He got out, ran to my side, let me out and walked me safely to the front door.

Adonis: So uh....can I see you again?

Me: I-uh....

Adonis (mocking me): I, uh.....

Me: Haha! I don't know. Can you?

Adonis: May I see you again for dinner?

Me: Let me think on it, Adonis. It was lovely to meet you, and thank you for driving me home safely.

I kissed him softly on the cheek, opened the door, and closed it. He looked at me, smiled, and drove home.

Maybe he's what I've been looking for all my life....nah, that's crazy.

...Or is it?
