Alice's POV

Puzzlement; confusion invades through the occurrence as an experienced pacemaker along with the clutter of solicitude, the open slit of anguish, the sweep of fury topped by senselessness; absurdity and the petite decoration of dread done by distrust and treason.

Disconnecting the suspicion is not the wisest solution and I am aware of that but the current occurrence leaves me no option. The wearisome sound of heels tapping against the laminar floor is stilly yet unavoidable, every tap throbbing throughout my ears irritatingly echoing to my hearing. She is diagonally sitting next to me and I find it understandable due to her worry, she seemingly is not aware of her movements.

Appeasement gradually overpowered the twisted uproar from Liam's house during the unpleasantly rushed drive to the hospital, but the remaining stir inside of my head haven't find its disappearance yet.

Passionless weather mercilessly surrounding the car provided no assistance either, the low temperature producing the winding of small agitated pellets consisting of frozen droplets around it.

Merely some faint grunts and groans could be heard by Liam during the drive muffled by the sound of a loud vehicle engine and as awkward as it was to me, I found myself carefully fondling my fingers along his bare arm, sleeve rolled up in an unkempt way due the pain he felt. Help by my movements was limited to none, though they seemed to ease the heaviness in his voice.

Fortunately, both of us were in the back of a vehicle while the other two were forward and I was more than grateful for being able to avoid any kind of interaction with the man whom I met in the woods. To my satisfaction, the only person left in the flat beside him was the same tall, brown-haired girl who pushed him away from Liam.

During the short drive, both of them remained silent, only the girl throwing glances over her seat every few seconds, constantly checking on Liam; each time a deeper grimace marking her stunning features.

Now, sitting in an empty waiting room only adds more unwelcoming feels and thoughts, allowing my mind to stubbornly recall events that I went through in less than two hours.

The inscrutable man is impatiently pacing back and forth through the room, the turtleneck rolled up along his face stopping at the level of his cheekbones, revealing the greenery of his eyes. Aside from his eyes, his lightly slopped, heart-shaped forehead is disclosing a part of his looks to my sight while his sufficient curls cautiously fall down the back of his head, reaching the collar of his coat.

Stealthily, I clear my throat attempting to gain the girls's attention to which she only increases the pace of her foot, the sound of now louder tapping fills the empty area. After a few unsuccessful tries of stretching my hand out and retrieving it, unaware of her reaction, I manage to place my hand on her shoulder.

"I am sorry," snapping her head at my voice, she manifests the ravishment I interrupted, blinking rapidly. "Jade, right?"

"Jay."

"Sorry, Jay." I correct myself, lowering the level of my voice. "Could you please tell me... What happened? Where is everyone?"

"Where have you been all the time?"

Her question appallingly startles me causing my fingers to hastily fly over to my bottom lip as if the sentience of Bailey's lips still faintly pulsated against mine. Momentarily, I drop my hand down pretending to look casual while the inner expression flashes an utter contrast.

"They left home." Jay heavily puffs her cheeks out, looking away.

Being nosey is not fully my mannerism and even though I know the curiosity will eat me alive, I remain silent.
