Chapter 5

The 'vacations' were over, it's time to come back to school.

I was in my way to school when I saw Farkle and Riley sitting in the grass in a park. I decided to give them a little scare.

I saw a tree right next to them where I could hide, they were so focused on their conversation they didn't even notice me hiding. I was about to jump on them , but I heard Farkle telling something to Riley.

"So, Zay and I talked yesterday...he said something bad happened with Lucas",Farkle said.

"What happened?", Riley asked him.

"He said he couldn't tell anyone, it was something private"

"Then why are you telling me this?..."

"He said Lucas might not be the same person we met when he came here"

"What?, Why?"

"I don't know, it has to do with something that happened there, but Zay says that maybe you could talk to him, since you were his girlfriend, he might trust you, and you can help him get back to who he was before he went back to Texas".

"I'll try, but after we broke up he stopped telling me important things, I think he was a keeping a secret"

"Well, try to find out, maybe it has something to do with what happened in Texas"

"Okay, I will", I ran out of there as fast as possible, I had to find Lucas...what happened in Texas looks pretty serious, and I want to find out what happened exactly.

I looked all over the school but I didn't found him...wait, there was one place where I didn't looked, the art classroom!!, I went to the classroom and I found him...making out with a girl.

"Lucas?", I said when I saw them.

"Could you give us a minute?", he said to the girl he was talking to.

"What do you want Hart?", he said with a much colder voice than usual... he also had a cold look on his face. It was a little bit scary.

"What happened in Texas?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, now move"

"No!", I locked the door, "What happened in Texas? Don't make me ask again"

"Nothing, and I said move!", Lucas pushed me and I fell. He realized what he did and tried to help me but I stood up by myself ignoring him.

"I'm sorry Maya, I didn't mean to-",

"Just...save it, I don't need your pity"

He laughed...a cold laugh.

"Whatever...now, if you excuse me, I have to talk to that pretty girl over there".

"But that's not the girl from before".

"So?".

"What's gotten into you?"

"I'm the same person Maya, it's just a little change", he said and left me there, alone.

"A huge one, actually", I whispered to myself.

Riley and I were looking for Lucas, so we decided to split up. Riley went to the cafeteria and I was in my way to the art classroom, when I got there I heard Lucas talking to a girl...Maya!

"...Whatever...now, if you excuse me, I have to talk to that pretty girl over there". Lucas said to Maya, with a different tone than his usual, wow... he really has changed.
