My middle finger slid across the slick of his arm, worshipping each curve, placing the tips of my fingers against his cheek, feeling the stubble of an unshaven face.
My bad boy—Arion.
With no light for me to revel in his beauty, I would have to explore my mysterious lover with the tips of my fingers. He didn't seem to mind.
The ground beneath was cold and dirty. I felt the grimy sensation beneath my bare buttocks, but I didn't care anymore. In this world, we were all dirty—nobody was clean!
Footsteps in the distance startled me.
"Your clothes," I whispered, shaking Arion's shoulders.
We grabbed our clothes mixed with each other. No time to put them on, so we just covered our nakedness.
Lights beamed in our direction.
"Can you cut it with the lights—Cam!" I snapped.
"Who's that?" barked Cameron.
"Mm—"
"—Do you remember my Guardian Angel, Cammy?" I shot out, interrupting Arion before he could answer.
Cameron didn't respond verbally as a few seconds elapsed. There was just an awkward pause from his side, which was odd because Cameron always had something to say.
"This is Arion," I said.
"Lydia," hissed Cameron.
"Gimme a minute, Cam," I hissed back, shooing him off for privacy. "Quick—put on your clothes," I whispered to Arion as I separated his clothes from mine.
Several minutes later, I met with Cameron further down the sewer.
"Are you serious, Lydia—You just did the nasty with an angel?" spat Cameron.
I didn't respond immediately. There was nothing to say. We literally were caught with our pants down.
"You smell like sex—girly," hissed Cameron.
"And!" I shot back.
"And—that's like against the Bible or something. Anyways, I know it's just wrong!"
"Are you judging me?" I spat, clenching my fists.
"Relax—I'm looking out for you—You're my homie," said Cameron pausing to get a better look into my eyes. "I don't want you to get hurt."
"Thank you, Cammy—But I can handle this. Besides, we got bigger issues to deal with."
I nudged Cameron back over to where Arion was waiting.
"I'm glad you two had your little talk, but it's time to get you to church!" grunted Arion.

Although supernatural forces could surprise us at every turn, traversing through the sewer in the middle of the night was oddly not so scary with Cameron and Arion. As long as I felt Arion's presence nearby, I knew I would be safe.
"Stop!" snapped Cameron. "This will lead us to the top." He then waved us closer, pointing to a barred metal ladder leading into a circular tube upward. "Arion—you go first!"
"Why?" I snapped back.
"Relax, Lydia—he's strong enough to lift the metal cover!"
"Both of you relax!" barked Arion. "I'll go first." After a few steps up, he shot a glance back at us, "The enemy is up there—Not here!"
