My Own Happy Ending

Chapter 10

For the first time I notice that everybody's quiet and either looking at me or the door, mostly me.

I shrink down in my seat and cross my arms to deflect all the looks  I was getting. Mrs. Paul comes back into the room and to the front of the room.

"Get back to work people." She says in a commanding voice. There are murmurs bouncing off the walls.

"NOW!"  She snaps. Everybody gets back to work with a few looks in my ways. Mrs. Paul comes over to me. "What happened?"

"Um..." Should I tell the truth? "Well Samuel was getting frustrated with the work we were doing , you know"

She nods her head. "Okay well did y'all discuss what portion of each of you're going to do?"

Um no we have done no work. "Yes."

"Okay then I suggest working on that."

I nod my head and she walks away.

I get out my things for the project and get working.

I wonder where Samuel went. I'm flattered that he cared and said something to Heather about it but then I'm kinda scared. He threatened to kill her if she insulted me again. The question hurt me but I don't think that she is worth killing.

I wait for Samuel to come back but he never does. Soon the bell rings and I walk out to meet Miracle and walk to class.

As I'm walking I see Samuel. He walking with Harley and their laughing. We are walking in each other directions and we are about to They haven't seen me yet so to avoid being seen by them two I duck behind a person back and crouch and walk past them.

When I think I'm in the clear I feel a arm wrap around my shoulders and pull me to press against their front. Feeling his hard body he whispers in my ear, his voice deep. "Are you hiding from me?"

I shake my head, hitting my head in his chin. "Look at me." He says in my ear.

I turn my head to look at him and he's a fingerbreadth away.
