Chapter 10

It had been two weeks and Justin was very emotionally unstable. He would cling to me like a lost puppy. Although at times it was cute, I was getting worried.

"Arielle?" a timid voice had spoken, making me turn around. "Yeah?" I said, putting my books on the desk that were scattered over my bed. "Are we, you know, together?" he asked, like a child asking for candy. I let out a sigh, and looked at him straight in the eye.

"Look---" I started but his eyes had held an emotion that broke my heart into two. "As much as I want to be with you, you still hurt me. I can't just give in to you. I'm not the type of girl to forgive you so easily. That's not fair to me. If I cheated on you, how would you feel?" I said in one breath.

Justin winced when the words, "cheated," had came out of my mouth but spoke up. "I would be hurt," he replied with honesty in his words. "Exactly," I say, munching on a Chocolate Wafer. "I'm sorry," he says suddenly, making me stop chewing. "What?" I ask, confused on his apology. "I'm sorry, for uh, hurting you," he explains. "I accept your apology. I can only accept your apology so many times Justin. But, that doesn't mean I'm willing to put every awful thing behind us. I can't even look at you without thinking of that day," I say.

"I just, I just can't see the guy I loved."

"Loved?"
