"Perception" I never found this word ever so intense as it looks today, after I read this extensive study by Arne Johan Vetlesen on empathy and moral conduct.
And now I am beginning to think how he percieve's the word 'perception' and I am beyond surprise at his defination and more surprised at our inhumanity.
Let's go back in those days when the bravery of a man was calculated by the number of tigers or beasts he would hunt. This hasn't changed much, and now the same man has taken a step ahead starting to kill a beast of its own kind.
Man killling a man!
Earlier in those days killing was bravery and now killing is insensitive and numb.
This is all about the perception, how we are made to see things, how we reflect upon the worldly activities.
The words of Sir william blake now appear to make much sense to me when he said in easy words that when you wipe clear every door of perception, everything would appear to you unmixed and so infinite.I am now beginning to question our education in this situation, Is this what we have learnt and studied so far?
Did we study all this way to enable our minds to percieve thoughts of greatness of self or was it to be mindfull?
I am confused.
If it was to be mindful then where is the consiousness that makes us humble and unselfish?
Where is that feeling of contentment of hungry soul?
Where is that peace of mind that we meant to attain?
Do you have an answer to it?
I can only conclude that either we have dead consiousness or a destructive soul.
Had it been the other case, If only we had the awakened conscious, we would have made this world a better place to live and die in.
Where we could have the eyes to see how just beautiful and perfect is everything around us.
The wind, the sun,the mornings and us (every other human being).
If only we had the eyes to see the beauty within us and the other man.The author uses a term ecoside here, I was much alien to this term before studying it here.
Now this pretty much makes sense to me.
It is the inability of a man to see the worth of another man.
Insensitivity of a man to feel others emotions.
Numbness of a human being to destroy the mankind is ecoside..Coming back again to the word perception.
The author utters utmost truth, that we can never stop percieving things as we consider ourselves the super humans and that there is none beyond us.
This sole perception of us is a step to destruction of the mighty manly world.
The serious question here for you and me to ponder (think) is will our consciousness ever awake and stop us from the destruction ever?
