The ground shook as the cold wild began ripping through layers of my clothes and frozen my bones. The loud screams began to fade as the Gladers tried to convince me to return. But it was only the moment when the loud slam of the doors shutting did I realise I entered the maze with no weapons, but a vendetta against a boy who wasn't even worth all the sacrifices and troubles we just went through.
I dropped the boy onto the floor out of horror and disgust at what he just gotten us into. "Listen here, Parrish. If you speak a single word through this 'trip' I will throw your sorry arse in the middle of the maze and hope you wouldn't live to see another daylight, understood?" He nodded and managed to pick himself up. "Good. You will be following me. We're going to find Lydia."
We ventured through the maze and ran through all the covers and turns and then the sounds of metal scrapping against metal erupted from every single ivy covered walls. The full moon came out as a glowing light in the sky. It was the first day that I ever found it to be the only real thing in the land of fake and forgotten items. The inhumane shrieks were constantly coming closer as we ran as fast as we can away from them. Where is she?
After a few minutes of running, I felt someone tap my shoulder. "What?" "I'm tired. We've been running for a long time. Can we take a break?" "It's only been 5 minutes." "Yeah, but some of us aren't runners. We need to take a break." "This is your own god damn fault. You're the reason she is here in the first place. So stop complaining and get the hell up." "But-" before he could finish we heard more sounds of metallic screams erupting throughout the maze.
Lydia's p.o.v.
I woken up to the moonlight shining quite bright as I realised the walls seemed much closer to me and there was more walls than usual. Then a scream echoed around with the usual scrapping metal you would hear during night, but this time it was much louder and seemed closer.
I looked around and jumped when I realised that the place seemed unfamiliar. The walls were covered in ivy and vines all around it and the walls were grey and seemed to be having only one opening. Where is this place? And what the hell is with me and watching up with no memory of how I got here?
Before I gotten up I was thrownand blow back to the ground by an unbareable force. The fall was so cold that I felt goosebumps rise up as well as a painful bruise forming. Then a piercing shriek erupted into my ear drums leaving me temporarily deaf. My ears began to buzz and the buzzes began to grew louder and louder. The impact made me cover my head and then it all stopped. Just like that.
The echoes of a scream erupted throught the maze. The griever ran away out of fear. What the hell did I just do?
Stiles' p.o.v.
The Griever's cry was cut off by a loud ear splitting scream. The scream echoed throught the ivy walls as the sound of the metal against metal seemed to rush away from the scream. Lydia.
I sprinted towards her running around screaming out her name. Parrish seemed to be quite alert too, but something just seemed odd about the way he was behaving. "Stiles. You might want to turn around." "Why? What the hell is so important that you have to stop me from saving Lydia, who is my... friend."
I forced myself to not say anything I'll regret. I have to stay focused. Think Stiles. Where in the maze could she be now?
Lydia? Where could you be?
Lydia's p.o.v.
'Lydia? Where could you be?'
I jumped at the voice that echoed into my brain. My heart began pounding as if a hummingbird deciding to take over the position of the extremely vital organ. Stiles.
"STILES?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I yelled out until my voice went dry. "Lydia! You could hear me?!" "OF COURSE THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT! I CAN HEAR YOU CLEARLY! HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT?!" "Tell me where you are first there is no time to waste. Please. Tell me you are okay." "I'm fine. I've always been fine ever since that asshole decided to whack my head. I've been fine. Why can't he just notice that I've have so much more to tell him then my voice let's me say?" "Then tell me what you've been meaning to say. I will listen to you, Lyds."
This time I jumped how can he hear me? "Lydia. Please. Let me take you out of this place." Trust me. I would like you to, but how the hell am I supposed to know where I am? Idiot. "Hey! I can hear you!" I chuckled to myself. I didn't move anywhere since the griever left. "I'll be on my way."
Then some letters caught my eyes as I spun toward the entrance of the section I was currently in. The letters were written in bold with the words 'W.I.C.K.E.D' on it. I ran my fingers across the letters and then flashes began to flicker in my mind as images began surfacing towards me.
"-Before you go there promise me you'll take care of yourself?" "I promise." "Hey Lydia. I heard you going to the cinema tomorrow-" "Mom! I lost my shoes!" "Ally! I will miss you so much." "Don't worry, Lyds. I'll be back before you know it. And by the way. Remember to tell mister lover boy how you feel."
Then the world began spinning around and I gotten an insane headache and nearly collapsed. And then it happened again. But this time. It was different. A crowd of people were talking and mutter and screaming at once. It told me one thing. But I could understand. So I screamed. Then all shouts began the worst five words I have ever heard. Stiles is going to die.
