"This place smells worse then your room".
"We ain't never gonna find anything in here".
The hospital was just as I imagined it. Though it was hard to see anything, with the thick layer of fog covering the room. It looked like no one had been here for years.
"You think we can just go back"? The glass under my feet crunched as I made my way towards the light ridden corridor. "I mean, it's not like we ever find children".
Erik mumbled "wuss" under his breath as Dex sighed, "As much as I wanna leave this place, you know we can't".
I knew he was right. The rest of the team would get mad at us for not following protocol. We were required to search all the buildings for survivors.
"Search them rooms". Dex beckoned into the dark hallway. "We've got to come back with something".
As Erik and I walked a few feet in the hallway, he cried out a number of things, which made the room erupt in echoes. I jabbed him in the arm to shut up. He never took the searches seriously.
I held up my flashlight to the first door. I brushed away the dust, and rubbed away the bloody fingerprints.
"Well, what's it say"? I knew Erik couldn't read, and grew impatient.
"Feeding Room #132".
I heard Dex laugh quietly in the distance.
The room smelled like rotting flesh. There was blood everywhere, all over the walls and floor. The windows seemed locked, but looked cracked as if someone dragged their nails on it. In the middle of the room there was a chair, a large thin chair with words written all over it.
"It's... Watching... You". I read. I couldn't make out much of anything else.
Erik sneered, "Damn, this place was fucked up". He took a few steps closer.
"Your fucked up". I added, with the touch of confidence I had.
After a few minutes of arguing and walking around the room, Dex called us from far down the hall. He was used to us bickering, and had taken it upon himself to examine the rest of the hallway.
Following his flash light, Erik and I quickly made our way to the door Dex was standing by.
"Help me open this here door". His accent echoed through the darkness. He tried to kick it open with his foot as Erik and I pushed.
As we walked in, we saw a wheelchair had been blocking our way. It looked as if it was purposely put there, to keep someone out. I shuddered.
"Looks like a bedroom". Said Erik.
Other then being completely trashed, he was right. It was a small room, with a small cot in the corner, a desk next to it, and a closet. The cot had no mattress, but instead had dried bloody ropes tied to it. The chair from the desk was the same.
Dex picked up a piece of paper from the floor. Erik and I looked his way for an explanation.
"We're getting close". He said as he showed us the paper. It was hard to make out the words, but it was a pencil drawing of what looked like a tall black figure with no face.
