Chapter 3- blame and shame

It's Wednesday, 4 days after the big shock and the day of silence. I'm glad it's half term because I don't think I would be able to concentrate this week during school. I haven't seen dad since and Lacy seems to have let everything sink in. I don't know why, but I woke up quite early and didn't want to go downstairs and talk to myself, so I decided to stick my earphones in and listen to my music( mainly to block out Lacy snoring like a pig).
" Kids breakfasts ready!" I didn't realise mum was downstairs or even out of bed. Since Saturday, she hasn't been getting up till about 1pm and looks like a zombie because she really can't be bothered to do her hair and makeup. Liam was already downstairs and Lacy looked liked a zombie walking out of the door. When we went downstairs, mum had makeup on, hair up in a tight bun and she was wearing her tightest dress.
" Ooo mum why you dressed so fancy eh?"lacy questioned with hair in her mouth.

" Well girls I need to tell you something, I've got a ne-" Liam interrupted obviously knowing what was going on.
" Mummy's got a boyfriend called Nigel!" I knew it, the posh bloke was mums new boyfriend to add to the list- I remember when they were talking they said something about Nigel . I didn't say anything apart from' oh that's nice'. Lacy is the worst at keeping secrets and is quite stupid.
" oh yeah we knew, Jess knew because she saw you and some weird posh person making out, when you were in the house and thought that Jess weren't here and-" mum interrupted staring at me with a big angry face. I gave Lacy the biggest feather stare ever.
"Oops, Jess sorry, it... It just blurted out." When I told lacy I told her not to tell anyone especially not mum.
"JESSICA AMY GREEN, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SPYING ON ME AND MY PERSONAL LIFE. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE KEPT SECRETS FROM YOUR OWN MOTHER!" Lacy's face grew redder and redder, even Liam looked shocked,he had never seen mum shout like that before. He came crying over and sat on my knee, mum not even noticing.
"I CANT BELIVE YOUR BEHAVIOUR.  JUST GO TO YOUR ROOM, YOUR GROUNDED FOR A WEEK!" I did as I was told and as I walked up stairs the whole house went into silent mode , again. I knew what I did was wrong but it was her fault for   getting so worked up about it, she doesn't think before she speaks. I officially liked dad more than mum now. And as for lacy, I didn't even want to speak to her anymore, the only person I could trust in this house was Liam. And as  by magic Liam came in with a very lumpy belly.
"Heeeelllllooooo Jessie- Bob. Don't tell mummy but I've come to play with you." Liam said, trying to keep this very lumpy belly,'Liam what's under your top?'. He acted as if he forgot, " oh right, I brought some sweets up so we can have a teddy bears picnic!"

I was happy Liam turned up, we sat down and played picnics and he was a good distraction from stuff around me. Liam was officially the best sibling.
