I liked that name, but Desdemona didn't really fit her looks. Des really did work for her though. I nodded and we walked just another minute before coming to a small clearing. There was a house sitting in the middle of the clearing. It was so nice. It was all a nice wood log look, but yet it seemed so modern and clean. There was a balcony coming off the roof and a small garden on one side of the house. The other side there was a hot tub and swimming pool.
"Woah." That was all I could say.
"Haha, this is me...come on." She walked forward towards the beautiful house. I followed her like a lost puppy. We got to the door of the house and she opened it. The inside looked so cool. It was a mix of blacks and purples. There was a huge flatscreen T.V. and three different gaming systems. The wall of the living room was a tall, black bookshelf with a moving ladder attached to it. There was a hole in the ceiling that matched up with the ladder if you moved it to one side. The living room I was looking at flowed into a kitchen that had a deep black marble counter island with other counters around it. The roof was high and the rest of the kitchen was so big and roomy.
"How does all this fit in here?" I asked in awe. She laughed a little.
"It's um, just a lot to take in." I realized that this took up the whole bottom floor of the house and the ceiling went to where the roof should be.
"You live here?" I asked her. She slowly nodded. "But, there's only a kitchen and a living room." I said. She laughed again. \\\\\
A "Um, I just sleep on the couch. And everything else is fine. It's perfect for me and-" A man jumped through the hole in the ceiling. He made eye contact with me and then her. He had on a simple outfit with a white hood that made it so I couldn't see his face.
"Who the fuck is this?" He asked Des. She looked away for a moment. I took a step back when he took off his hood. He had a smile carved into his face and he was missing his eyelids. Des didn't answer and the man walked over to her slowly while talking. "Des, who is this guy and why is he in your house? You had better tell me now." His voice was demanding and raspy. Des still didn't answer. He got over to her and tilted her head so she was looking at him. "Des, why is this guy in your house?" He demanded once more. She slapped his hand away.
"It's not what you are thinking, Jeff." So that was his name, Jeff. This man just looked to be growing more angry by the second, even though he had a permanent smile.
"Sure it isn't. Are you going to answer me?" He sounded very sweet, almost sarcastically sweet. I took a step towards them. I didn't want this girl to get hurt because of me. "You stay there." The guy...Jeff, didn't even look up at me. He kept his eyes on Des, but she was refusing to make eye contact with him.
"Jeff, Slender was gonna kill him." Jeff laughed.
"He should have." His tone changed to a more soothing, understanding one. I could tell he was really trying to keep his cool with this girl. "If Slenderman is going to kill someone, it is probably for a good reason, you should know that Des." I thought about how I would have died if Des didn't come for the first time. The thought was terrifying. I thought about protesting to this man, but he seemed too dangerous.
"No, I saw the whole thing, Jeff. The only thing he did was go a little too close to the mansion, but I don't think he knew what he was doing. And for your information, I didn't bring him cause I am a slut or anything, you should know that" She mocked. "There must have been something he was running from. His feet are really bad and I wanted to help him." He let go of her head.
"Des...you are such a wimp sometimes. Are you sure this guy is cool? And what could he have been running from?"
"Shut up. And yes, he's cool. I already read-" She stopped herself again. This girl must have a lot of secrets. I noticed that now when they were talking, her voice didn't sound like it was a wall trying to keep people out. Jeff and Des seemed to be in on something as they looked over at me. "I can just tell...you know." Jeff shrugged and looked at me.
