I had spent the last hour pacing back and forth in my hotel room. I had no idea how I was supposed to feel about Ethan's kiss. Sure, it hadn't been the first time he had kissed me, but it had been the first time he had kissed me as my boss. Although I put way more emphasis to that than he did. Sometimes, it was like he completely forgot about the relationship we were supposed to have.
Truth to be told, I was very happy about that. Ethan was one of the best guys I had ever met. And if he wasn't my boss, I would date him without thinking twice. But that was not the case. And I couldn't just ignore that.
I finally sat on my bed and looked at the ceiling. My feet were starting to hurt, how annoying.
It was half past six and I was having dinner with Ethan and his sponsors at eight at the restaurant of the hotel. And I had no idea of how I should be around him. The only thing I knew, was that I wanted to look at my best. So I went to the bathroom to shower.
Then, I dressed my favorite white mini dress and did my makeup. I was ready and I was going to blow him away.
I left the room at eight o'clock and went to the restaurant.
"Hi, I'm with Ethan Williams" I said with the smile.
The waiter looked down at the reservations book before telling me to follow him to a table by the window, where Ethan was already seated with two mens and a woman. As soon as he saw me, he got up.
"Everyone, this is Chloe Evans, my assistant. Chloe, these are John, Sophia and Greg" Ethan introduced.
"Hello, it is very nice to meet you" I said, greeting them and then I seated at the chair next to Ethan.
"How was your trip to Los Angeles?" Sophia asked us.
"Long, but very pleasant, thank you" Ethan answered.
"To get to such a beautiful city, one has to do some efforts" Greg said laughing.
I laughed joining the others, even though what Greg had said had not been funny.
Two hours later, Ethan had still not directly talked to me and I was a little bit sad about that. It was understandable, he was at a "meeting".
"We have just dropped Shawn because he has not been at his best the last couple of games, but you must know that to win our sponsorship you have to win your game tomorrow" John said.
Ethan glanced at me before answering.
"I am aware of that, yes, and I'm very focused and confident I will win tomorrow".
"We hope so, we would love to sponsor you" Sophia said.
"We will be watching first row" promised Greg.
"Thank you so much for coming" Ethan said.
After saying goodbye to everyone, we were finally alone. And I didn't know what to say. Fantastic.
"Wanna go outside?" He asked. Thank god.
"Sure" I replied shyly.
He put his arm around my shoulders and walked me outside to the garden. It was beautiful.
"You look beautiful tonight" he said smiling.
