Nine months later . . .
As I waddle around the house, trying to get comfortable carrying twins is no easy task. Emelia had just given birth to a little girl a few months ago and already Drake was loving fatherhood and Silas was loving being an uncle but I warned him not to get too attached to his niece since he's had his own babies coming around.
My hospital bag was all set to go; I was about two weeks away from my due date as I glance at the nursery room two cribs two little outfits laid out in the crib. Baby one or two kicked my stomach as I held my hand on that very spot where he or she had kicked, both Silas and I had decided that finding out that we were having twins were one surprise and we wanted to be surprise on the gender of the babies. Silas hopes that they have my nose and my eyes while I told him that I'd be happy with a mixture of both of us. I hear Silas coming up the driveway as he made the decision to sell his truck and upgrade to an SUV.
"Hey Chloe" he said as he kissed me passionately and of course our little ones were happy that daddy was home, he place his hand on my large stomach feeling them move.
"How are you feeling?" he asked as I told him that I was exhausted, I gently let myself sit back down on the couch as Silas followed all of our ultrasounds showed that our babies were healthy and growing. I guess in my mind I worry about how they'll be once they come out however they came out. Our OB/GYN had suggested that we do a schedule Cesarean but I felt that I wanted to try having a natural birth if at all possible. My hips were wide enough so to speak but everywhere hurts and going to the bathroom every five seconds was annoying but one of our little one likes to sit on my bladder.
"You hungry? Do you want soup?" Silas asked as I nodded while I laid down as he went to make the soup, I often fell asleep napping but I was woken by the smell of tasty soup as Silas brought the bowl over to me.
"Thank you, it's bad enough I can't see my feet and I can barely touch the counter so why bother trying to cook?" I gulp a spoonful of soup as Silas laughed
"Do you want me to rub your feet again or do you just want me to carry you to bed?" he asked as he took off his shoes and place all of his work items in the dish that he places them in.
"I want both but honestly I could easily fall asleep right now if I wanted to" I rubbed my belly as Silas watched me in admiration he leans down to kiss me before placing my bowl aside and slowly lifting me up to carry us to the bedroom. He proceeded to kiss me and rested his hand on my stomach, I love that he always wants to feel the babies move I know we were both anxious to meet them. Would we have two girls, two boys? Or one of each? It wouldn't matter to us all we wanted was healthily babies. As on cue I slowly fell asleep while Silas rubs my stomach.
Little Avery was cooing as Emelia swaddle her as we make small talks, motherhood was suiting Emelia well even after her first shift since giving birth her body is slowly getting back to her post-pregnancy body. I rubbed my belly as Emelia sings softly to her little daughter,
"Okay she's out for a little while" Emelia whispers as she cradles her little girl, she asks me how I'm doing as I tell her that I feel like a giant whale or something. She grins a smile as she glances down at her sleeping girl,
"How's motherhood treating you?" I asked as Emelia said that it's going great
"I couldn't ask for more although Drake already spinning his wheel on more kids already, but I told him it's not going to happen anytime soon" she said as I laughed hoping Silas isn't going to have that on his mind too.
"I'm so over this pregnancy right now, both babies are kicking me right and left and one likes to sit on my bladder like crazy" I shift in my spot as Emelia laughed softly
