Chapter Fourteen

When I had decided to surprise Chloe for a late night visit, I didn't expect her to start crying . . . When I asked her what was wrong she cried even harder. I led her to the bed and held her closely to me, comforting her I really wanted to know what was wrong.

"Chloe?" she lifted her head as I wipe a tear from her face she gaze at me before we reach for a kiss, a deep passionate kiss. She was tugging on the hem of my shirt as much I really wanted to do this; I needed to know what made her so upset.

"Tell me what made you upset" I said as she inhaled a breath, she explains that she had dinner with her cousin and her cousin's boyfriend. Here I was thinking that maybe the dinner didn't go well,

"We were all eating desert and Emelia wanted to know more about our date and when I mention you . . . She freaked" she said now I know why she's upset. Chloe had to have said my name, I'm sure it was natural for her to say my name and not think about what I had said about mentioning my name in front of her cousin.

"She called you an atrocious, vile person which is ridiculous because you are the sweetest person I have ever met. She couldn't even explain not even Drake her boyfriend/fiancé could explains how they think they know you."

Atrocious and vile . . . I expected that coming from Emelia but now I needed to figure out how to explain to Chloe how Emelia and Drake knows me. But I wasn't ready; I didn't want to scare her away. Chloe knows I have my own demons, one with myself personally and second I have Alexandria on my back.

"What else did she say?" I asked as she said that Emelia wanted her to cut off all contact with me, and that Drake gave a heeding warning to her. I glance over at her open laptop that shows an old article of Drake from a couple months ago, she was doing research. I doubt she would find anything on me but I had to asked,

"Are you looking up something on me to see if what Emelia and her boyfriend said?" she sniffed glance over at her laptop,

"No and I'm not planning on to, but that doesn't mean that I can't look up Emelia's oh-so-perfect boyfriend" she reach over to her laptop and close out her search then shutting down her laptop.

"I want to know you the personal way and not by research or what others say about you, I know you're a fanatic on old cars, you work as a handyman at museums. I want to know you this way" she intertwines my hand with hers as I grasp the side of her face then kissing her. We kept on kissing as we both lean down on the bed; tonight it wasn't an urgency to have sex. It was just being with one another, I know Drake would never tell Chloe what we are and about the luminary bonding. We simply went to sleep in each other arms; tomorrow I wanted to show her more about me the person I know I can be as long she's there with me.

The next morning I plan to spend all day with her, it was my day off luckily but I didn't want to leave her alone for one second of this day. When Alexandria makes a threat she means it, Chloe needed a little cheering up after her fight with Emelia.

"Make sure you dress warm" I said as I put on my boots while Chloe is getting ready in the bathroom, she walked out in jeans and long sleeve

"Why where are you taking me?" she asks as I grinned, like I was telling her . . .

"It's a surprise"

We headed down to the lobby and walked across the street to my trunk, I opened the door for her as she stepped in eager to know where I was taking it. Hopefully she's willing to wait an hour,

"I hope you don't mind a little driving distance" I said as I started the truck,

"Now where are you really taking me?" I could hear a little squeak in her voice, as we venture off driving this was as close as I could get as far showing her parts of Seattle on our way to The Summit at Snoqualmie Pass. When we finally got there she laughed
