Midnight strikes the clock as Namjoon continues fiercely writing on files with the ball point pen that is almost dry of black ink. He gathers all the evidence descriptions and photos together and lets out a sigh. Another case that had yet to be slip away to be a mystery.

His finishes his notes and combs through his aging hair that seems to be graying after so many years. Once he finishes writing down his notes on this weeks case, he slides them in a file folder and stamps a label to the front of it.

Namjoon lets out a long groan as he bends down and places the file in the alphabetical order of his clients and cases in the filing cabinet under his desk. He pauses when his fingers cascades over a certain file that hasn't been opens in years.

"JEON JUNGKOOK NO.97" The top of the file reads. Namjoon freezes in place, his body unable to move. His heart stops, as he glazes at the file, tempting to open it.

He hasn't thought about Jungkook in years, not ever since that day he told him he didn't love him anymore. He can still see the imprints of the scenes of Jungkook screaming, throwing a chair at the window and being taken down by the guards. And not to forgot, the look Jungkook give him when Namjoon left. A look of pure revenge.

Namjoon shivered and shook the imagines that played in his head. He hears foot steps come from behind him and a women voice speak, peeling away his unconscious thoughts from the past.

"Kim Namjoon, are you staying for the night?" His coworker asked. Namjoon jumps, hitting his head on his desk and biting his lip to not let a string of curse words escape his lips in a presence of a women.

"Oh, Sooyou, you scared me." Namjoon says, sitting up and rubbing away the pain from his head. "You go home, I'm going to finish up some paper work and then I'll head out."

Sooyou bows and gathers her stuff. "Don't forget to lock up." Namjoon looks around to the empty office spaces indicating that everyone has left already.

He leans back in his chair, before grabbing a certain file that his mind can't keep thinking about.

Namjoon grabs Jungkook's file and opens it up, scattering the many photos, documents and records that have been recorded of Jungkook. Namjoon shuffles through the various letter, till his finger cast over a certain photo of Jungkook.

Jungkook is smiling, sitting on a couch, Namjoon recognizes back at his old apartment. The apartment before he moved out of, got married and had kids. The apartment where he shared his love with Jungkook.

Namjoon begins cry, tears start to stream down his face. That this boy in this picture is not the Jungkook who murdered a guy and beat his girlfriend. Jungkook was a cute, bashful, giggly boy that would shower Namjoon with kisses after a hard day of work.

Namjoon rubs his eyes dry and looks through the other photos. Mostly of Jungkook at the jail, when he first got deported there. Namjoon ran his fingers through different pages, mostly consisting of the courts dates, and record about Jungkook, till something catches his eye.

RELEASE DATE "1/18/26" Namjoon raises his eyebrow. That was a couple days ago.

A wave of happiness and yet terror sheer over Namjoon's emotions. Jungkook is out and can be anywhere now.

The lights begin to flicker in at police station, giving the sign that is time to go. Namjoon quickly packs the files back into the folder, messily as his hands shake trying to grasp and shuffle everything back in.

Namjoon heart jumps when a loud door slams in the distance, making him proceed to clean up faster. Namjoon grabs his things, keys and phone before turning all the lights off and making a run to the door.
