Kanan started the engines to the Phantom and turned around slightly to make sure the padawans were sitting before he took off. Ezra generally didn't sit,because he was always energetic and had too much energy to sit, but he didn't know too much about Rae... and he wanted to know more.
"So, Rae.. where are you from?" Kanan asked cautiously. Rae looked up at the mention of her name and she responded to his question. "I'm currently on Naboo with my father Senator Organa." she said seeing Ezra out the corner of her eye gasp. She let out a small sigh. "It's unfortunate though.. I don't even know my real father." she said. Kanan turned around in his chair after emerging the ship into hyperspace to get a better look at Rae. "You have no idea who your real parents are?" he asked still in a somewhat cautious tone. She looked from her hands up to Kanan and shook her head sadly. Kanan frowned looking to Ezra and signaled him to talk to her. Ezra sighed and got up to go sit next to her. She looked at him as he put his hand on hers. "I lost my parents when I was seven. They were arrested by the Empire and then I found out that they are truly gone a few weeks ago." he said in a hushed tone that would generally be comforting. Rae looked at Ezra for a second before taking her free hand and putting it on top of his that was on top of her other hand and gave him a reassuring smile.
Kanan was looking out the windshield while listening to the two teenagers behind him. If anyone saw the look on his face, they would see a sad look. He sighed and decided to break the silence that had suddenly crept upon them. "It looks like we're almost to our destination." he said. Rae got up, her soft hands leaving Ezra's and she laid them on the headrest of Kanan's seat as she looked out the window to see the stars slowing beside them. "It's such a beautiful universe..." she said as Ezra then got up and stood next to her. Kanan chuckled upon hearing this while Ezra only smiled.
A question then hit Ezra somewhat ruining the moment. "What is this mission about??" he asked. Rae giggled hearing his question and looked beside her to answer him. "We're apprehending illegal weapons from the Empire and hopefully successfully bringing them back to the Rebels." she explained a small smile growing on her face.
