The darkness sucked us in. We couldn't see anything. All the light was gone. Violet was still holding my hand. I expected it to be cold since there is no sun the give light or warmth. But it wasn't cold and it wasn't warm. I took my bag and searched for the torches and the matches. Which was pretty hard because I couldn't see a thing. I should have done that before we stepped over the line. I was feeling around for the matches and finally found them. I lit one and a little flame gave us a little bit of light. I grabbed the torch and put the flame on it. The flame grew and the torch was lit. "Now that we have some light, let's find that dam tree!" I said swinging the light around to see a bit.
"Is it okay if I hold on to you, or else we might lose each other." She said. Her face looked red with the light of the fire. Not bad red but pretty. She looked scared but forced herself to give a weak smile. I nodded not sure she'd see it. We walked slowly through the woods. Violet in one hand torch in the other. I held the torch infront of me so there would be no suprises from flying animals or whatever layed in these woods. We didn't say much beause what was there to say. Hay so it's dark isn't it. Hahhahaa.... Nope nothing yo talk about. And I wouldn't dare to ask if there would be any weird creatures because I didn't want to scare her more. And I myself am afraid for that awnser to. Because deep inside I know their here. A curse wouldn't take freaking monsters. Well it did take rumple but that's different. Walking slowly step by step watching around. Looking if it was safe. It was cold. Not icy cold but chilly cold. The kind of cold that gave you chills that made you shiver. The kind of cold that made you notice everything more. I heard every sound better than normal. Probably because I can't see. I felt violet shifting closer. I didn't mind. I was afraid to. But I had to be brave. I had to be the best I can be. She wouldn't want a guy who can't protect her. She wants someone who can is there for her who can fight any weird thing he sees just to protect her. I had to be that guy. I heard something that wasn't us. Something close.
"Did you h..hear that?" Violet asked ger voice shaking.
"Yes. Just keep walking. It was probably some rabbit." I held the torch at her face and she didn't sound convinced. But she shook the look off her face and nodded. We walked further slowly. Something caught my eye. It shifted again. Now I knew I had to do something. Violet knew it to. There was something. I walked closer the where the sound came from. Violet was walking behind me still holding my hand. I held the torch out. Looking for any sign of danger. And that's when the light went of. The flame died and violet gasped. I gasped to but not so loud. There was something out here and we only got closer to it. I have no idea what to do. It took our light.
"Walk back, not to fast. Slow." I said to her my voice stedy. She backed out slow as I told her. But then she fell. Her hand slipped out of mine.
"Violet! Are you okay?" She didn't awnser. "Violet?" Nothing. I was afraid I lost her. I felt a bang at the back of my head. My vision went dizzy. And then I fell too. And I lost conciousness.
