“C-Chanyeol!”
Sobs rang through the otherwise silent apartment. It was late, or early, he didn’t know anymore, but it was far past an hour for someone to be up and awake.
He didn’t know how much more he could take of this.
“Don’t go.”
The words were terse and sharp in his ear as a pair of arms wrapped around his shoulders, pulling him into a strong chest. His tears soaked into the taller’s crinkled t-shirt. He should’ve ironed that earlier.
“I-I w-won’t,” He replied, barely above a whisper but it was like the roaring of a jet in Chanyeol’s ears.
He wouldn’t leave. He couldn’t. He mustn’t.
He wrapped his skinny legs around Chanyeol’s waist and clung to him as if his life depended on it. It probably did. He registered an annoyed mutter about being too heavy as he was carried down the hallway and most likely into the shared bedroom.
“My god Jongin, you weigh like a hundred pounds, how do you expect me to carry you anymore?” Chanyeol snapped as he dropped the younger on the mostly broken double bed and began pulling off his shirt angrily, throwing it at the half-full wash basket in the corner. “No wonder the bed is broken,” He mumbled under his breath and tugged off his skinny jeans, they also went in the corner. “You need to actually do something useful with yourself tomorrow and do some laundry, soon I’ll have no clothes left because of your laziness,”
“I-I will, I’m sorry,” The brunette said quickly, scooting across the bed to make space to Chanyeol to lie down next to him.
“I won't have any clothes soon, I’ll have to walk around naked,” The older continued, running a hand almost affectionately through Jongin’s hair. “But you’d probably like that wouldn’t you?” Jongin whimpered as his head was pulled up roughly by his hair. “Wouldn’t you slut?”
“Y-Yes, I’d like that,” He gasped and let out a loud breath of relief as he was let go.
“I thought so,” Chanyeol chuckled, lighting a cigarette and taking a long draw from it, he offered it to Jongin. Jongin refused. “Just take it and be grateful you little bitch,” He snapped and forced it into the younger’s hands, watching as the paper and tobacco slowly wore down to nothing.
“Is it great Jongin?”
“Is what great?”
“Isn’t it great to find out that you’re really worth nothing?”
The older laughed as Jongin’s face fell.
“Kidding babe,” Chanyeol sighed and a fake smile was quickly draw onto Jongin’s face, accompanied with a small laugh. “But seriously though, you need to start doing, I don’t know, housework or something, this place is a mess, ‘kay?”
“Yeah, ‘kay,”
The room fell into a silence in which the brunette used as an opportunity to shuffle across the older and wrap his arms softly around Chanyeol’s waist. Chanyeol pulled the thin blanket at the end of the bed up and over them and Jongin gently rested his head on the redhaired man’s chest.
“Get some sleep, you’ll need it tomorrow,”
-----
The morning came way too fast in Jongin’s opinion, but he was hardly surprised that Chanyeol was already awake and out of the apartment by 7:25 when he woke up. He did some washing, like Chanyeol had told him to, and tidied up the living room and bathroom. Chanyeol’s phone rang twice during the day, they both left messages. One person’s name was Kris and he needed to know about some girl and if the deal was still on and the other was by a person named Kyungsoo. He didn’t like that message much.
