God this took so long I'm SOOOOO SORRY!!!
Kagome walked out of her dorm and down the halls, out of the dorm. She took a right and walked down to the park. It wasn't like Kagome to do this. Normally she would be sleeping or studying, but now was the only time she could be alone and she wasn't going to waste it.
"Inuyasha, I know you're following me!" she called to the Hanyou behind her. He stuck his hands in his pockets and walked up to her, walking alongside her.
"Do you wanna be alone?" he asked.
"Well, I did, but then you showed up," she said sweetly, smiling up at him. He admired her, how she was smart and strong, and kind. And he loved and hated the fact that she could scare the living hell out of him.
"I'll take that as a no, then," he smirked. This was when Inuyasha was in one of his more sullen moods. There wasn't a particular reason, he was just calmer, maybe tired.
Inuyasha had to take all the highschool classes again, and he wanted to make sure he could graduate, so that he could be in the same college as Kagome. Sure, she'd be a sophomore, and him a freshman, but at least they'd be together, and that was really all that mattered to him.
Kagome looked at the ground as she walked, but her boyfriends gaze stayed locked on her. He walked closer to her and put an arm around her. This granted him Kagome's attention and he simply shrugged and looked forward.
Kagome was confused. Inuyasha had never shown that kind of affection before. Was it because they were in different schools now? Was it because it was their first day apart? What had happened differently?
What if he just truly cares about me? She thought, her eyes glued to the boy in front of her. Now eighteen years old, Kagome's boyfriend had just turned eighteen himself. He was slightly younger, with his birthday on the first of April, and hers on the twenty-forth of September.
As the two walked along the dirt road, their minds in different directions, they realized that this was all they needed. Each other. And as cheesy and corny as that sounds, to them it was true, and they'd have it no other way.
*Next Morning*
Kagome woke up, and got ready for school. She took her classes, ate lunch outside with her friends- including Inuyasha -and now had the rest of the day off. Sango, Miroku, Shippo, Sesshoumaru and Kagura, had went out for dinner and decided to invite Kagome. They all knew that if Kagome came along, so would Inuyasha. If you invited one of them, you invited both.
Kagura and Sesshoumaru were still sore about how they'd ended things. And were putting quite a damper on the party with their somber attitudes.
"Will you two please just make up already?" Sango asked impatiently, quite fed up with their attitudes towards each other. And everyone else. Kagura had turned bitter, and hateful, while Sesshoumaru shut everyone out. He refused to talk, and wouldn't even answer to Rin. The gang had forgotten what his voice sounded like and were starting to miss his abrupt, sarcastic input from time to time.
"Anyway. You two are acting like children and you're only going to end up regretting it if you don't make up," Inuyasha agreed, this was one of the rare times that he would agree with Sango.
"Who asked you two to be our couples counselors?" Kagura snapped.
"I did!" Inuyasha snapped back, barking at Kagura with his words.
"Well, I didn't. I think I should have a say? Isn't that right?"
"Calm down, Kagura. You're acting most immaturely," came the soft voice of the white-haired demon behind them. At first they didn't recognize it. Then they all realized who'd made the sarcastic remark.
"Well, look who decided to join the party," Kagura sneered.
"Kagura! Sesshoumaru! Please stop fighting! You're making my head hurt!" Shippo interjected, gripping hid hairs and pulling slightly.
"Shippo!" Kagome exclaimed.
"If you'll excuse me, I'll be with Rin," Sesshoumaru excused himself from the table that they were currently eating at. Kagura hmphed and sat back down.
"Just go, Kagura," Inuyasha mouthed off.
"Inuyasha! Don't say that!" Kagome corrected her boyfriend.
"Look, Kagura, you can either make up with him now or lose him and regret it for the rest of your life. But until you stop being a bitter ex I don't want nothin to do with ya," Inuyasha explained, slipping into his old, mean ways. Kagome had helped him overcome his meanness but it always came back when it was useful.
Kagura stood up, excused herself, and walked out. She didn't have to tell them. Everyone already knew where she had gone.
