Title: Hearts and Desires

Summary: Josh sees a pretty guy at a club, he's shy and commanding at once, confusing and mysterious. And apparently, also his new boss.

sleeves rolled up and a pair of black skinny jeans wrapped around his lightly muscled legs. His eyes flickered over his reflection as he combed his hair from his eyes before he was heading out the door, unable to stop himself.

The man took the cab, because he couldn't actually drive yet, failed every driving test he'd ever taken. With his jacket over his arm, because it was hot inside the cab, smelt of sweat and something a little heavier. His pockets weighed with money that definitely wasn't his, but he was rich enough whilst he had it; Josh found himself tipping the cabbie, because he could, because he'd never have to pay off the debt.

The club was loud, music bouncing off the walls and falling between the spaces between moving bodies grinding against each other, making the young man grin. The honey eyed man waved over to his friends and bought the second round, in reality they were only his friends because he paid for the drinks. Josh knew this. He was okay with this. In minutes they were all grasping at different partners, like watching a dance where they disappeared into toilets and changed partners every two minutes. Josh waited, he swirled his glass of Sangria, because he was fancy enough for a $20 Jug of a tropical alcohol that he'd never tried before. Waiting for someone perhaps, or maybe he just wanted a night to clear his head before he dived into a whole new world tomorrow morning.

He found someone anyway it seemed. In the years to come that he would not yet know, he will always remember laying his eyes on this man for the first time. He stood there under these bright lights, making him look so different, so beautiful, with his eyes half open and hands wrapped around a shandy glass too tightly. His hair was short and neat, and eyes dark even as the reds and blues and pinks flickered across them; skin alit by every light, cheeks darker and muscles lean and skinny against his dark blue shirt. Josh thought him beautiful, Josh thought him beautiful, Josh thought this man was the shyest and strangest creature he had ever seen. From his dark, troubled eyes, too the way he licked his lips repeatedly. And then he stood, his long, thin legs striding with sudden authority that all the air was knocked from Josh's lungs. Every thought inhis mussed crimson hair shouted 'I need him,' And so the honey eyed man stood to take him, walking around the room slowly, close enough so the other was aware.

He would play a game of cat and mouse, their eyes would meet, and Josh can still not make out the colour of the beautiful man's wide orbs. Josh edged a little closer, but looked away, pretending to interest himself in the chipped underside of his nails, he looked up and his eyelashes may have fluttered a little before their eyes met again. Now, the stranger looked interested, his commanding aura conflicting with how out of place and uncomfortable he appeared in this scene; eyes surveying Josh, who thinks now they might be brown, but it could be the lighting.

They meet somewhere in the middle and before Josh could ask, the stranger has already said "I don't dance," stunned and a little mute, Josh glances over where he was sat, there's half a jug of Sangria that he's been sipping for an hour, he's not drunk, hardly buzzed, there's an empty glass of shandy that's been left in the wake of the stranger. Perhaps leaving is a better option.

"I'm Josh, it's loud in here,"

"I'm Tyler," The man seems to be considering quietly before he finally says "Ok, let's go for a walk," It's good enough for Josh, who is forming a headache by now. They step into the cold together, well it was cold compared to the sweat and lust of the club, but in reality it's warm with a gentle breath of wind that helped them calm down a little. Every step is echoed down the long streets; Josh remembers he never said goodbye to his friends, but then again, when has he ever? Instead the quiet is good company, wearing off as he allows it to settle in that he is most likely going to fuck this guy tonight, if he wants, if he offers, but would he really have left with him if he didn't? Josh decides to ask.
