Listen, things didn't go the way I wanted them to go.
So what, you're just going to leave now?
Most likely, because you seem very troubled now.
You always guess. Who said I ever wanted to be alone?
---------------

I pace the wooden flooring, circling my tracks repeatedly. Hand at my chin, another behind my waist. I ponder what truly happened while I was in the forest. I growl ever so quietly, annoyed with the constant leads of getting into a dead end in my own mind. I yank on my ears, trying to find just one clue to leading me closer about what had exactly happened. "This is so fucking pointless." I exclaim, anger and frustration caked into my tone. I hear quiet footsteps in the other room, I pear over.

"Take a break, stop pushing yourself past your own limits Shadow." The blue hedgehog walks into the room quietly, seating himself on a chair, one leg folded over another which is planted onto the ground. I stare at him, knowing that he is right. But I can't just end my search here, I need to know exactly what happened with the whole 'figures from out of nowhere' situation. Now, I can't stand him with every heartbeat that beats 24/7, but the only reason I came to him for help, is that if I told anyone else, they would think that I'm insane.

"Put yourself in my shoes why don't you. I bet you'd be all 'cool and fine' with everything, but here you are, telling me to calm down. Aren't you helpful." I retort. I'm so bloody pissed, I literally have no words to express myself at the moment. Chaos, he can sometimes get on my 'rarely anybody sees' side. He looks at me, eyebrows cocking. "Sorry." He slurs the word, a tone of sarcasm in his voice. Little brat.

I slam my fist onto his living room table, causing his cup of hot chocolate to splatter onto the top a bit. "Fuck, why does this have to be so difficult?" A heavy, weighed down sigh escapes my lips, followed by an aggravated growl. He slowly stood up, and went and got a piece of paper towel and swiftly cleaned the small spill. "Just calm down, take a breath, play it cool. Just like I do." He smiled, taking a cooled sigh and plopping onto his living room couch, folding his arms back behind his spiked quills. A drop of sweat runs down my face, tearing away and falling onto the table top. I get up, walk over to him, yanking him off the couch by the wrists. I shoot a damn straight glare into his eyes, giving him a warning. "Number one, I am certainly not you. Number two, what don't you understand, about me, taking a trip to the point in time, where you are in between the bridge of life and death?" I clenched tighter, he yelped a small bit.

"Alright, alright! I'm sorry!" He pleads, wanting me to release him. I growl once more, whipping his wrists away from my hands. He flies back a slight bit, regaining his balance once both feet were on the floor. I took a seat on his couch, my hands holding my head from the sides. "Damnit, I'm getting no where with this." I mumble, cursing slightly under one long breath.

He takes a seat next to me, placing a hand on my back, rubbing it slightly, as if I'm a small puppy who just got yelled at. "Don't worry Shadow, I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of this." I peak over, he's giving me a reassuring smile. For once, his smug face isn't cocky, or annoying, it's for once a peaceful breath of relaxation. I smile back slightly. So, this is what smiling feels like. Odd.

He stands up, still looking down at me. "Hey, you're actually smiling for once!" He chuckles. The smile fades slightly. "Yes, I am. And it can leave just as fast as it crawled onto my face." My face once again filling up with negative emotions again. He scratched his head. "Sorry, sorry. Hey, you want anything?" He slowly paced into the kitchen, my ear twitches from hearing cabinets and drawers opening and closing softly. "I'm okay, you take whatever."

I rub two fingers against my forehead. Although he was right about not pushing myself past the limit, I just have to find out what is happening. I let out a patient, get annoyed sigh, trying not to get in a fit of rage at the moment. My ear twitches when I heard the sound of Sonics wrist communicator go off in the kitchen. I shook off the sound and continued to think, slight mumbled words interrupting my train of thought here and there.

A glass shattered.

"Hedgehog?" I questioned, seeing the edge of his shadow from the kitchen. It was still. Deadly still. I felt the room starting to fill up with, unpleasant emotions. I stood up slowly, an uneasy feeling sitting like a rock in my throat. I peaked onto the kitchen, my eyes widened.

He stood in the kitchen, his back facing me. I noticed the shards of glass scattered, some stuck into the top of his shoe. "Hedgehog?" I repeated again, this time, softer. He slowly turned towards me. His face, looked.. Depressed. He had tears, rapidly streaming down his cheeks. His eyes, bright red. His glove had a little spot of red-velvet liquid leaking out from the fabric. "S-Shadow.." His voice, very shaky.

"S-She's dead..."

Note: Okay, so that was chapter 7! Sorry if it was a little short, I was really tired. If there's any grammar or anything, just let me know, written at like 11:30 pm blah. Anyways, hope you enjoyed!
