Young Justice Fanfic - DEFCON 1 : Below Sea-Level

Chapter 2

"So there's a new villain, Weather Wizard?" Artemis asked.

"We think this is the guy that's controlling the weather." Nightwing said.

"So that's how the clouds became black like that...and blue lightning?" Kid Flash asked.

"Yeah. He's threatening us. He's using Happy Harbor as means to get us to surrender to the Light." Nightwing shook his head and rubbed his temples.

"Well, what's going on right now out there?" Bumblebee asked.

"Let's check." Nightwing said, "cave computer, pull up the latest news." A holographic screen appeared before the team, and the sight of the city shocked everyone.

"This just in. Happy Harbor is experiencing abnormal weather that has all meteorologists scratching their heads. The unusual behaviors of the weather have all harbor officials concerned for the safety and well-being of their citizens, so they are immediately starting evacuation. However, the flooding in the streets have held back many families. So the local authorities are evacuating to a building near the edge of the city. If you are at home and unable to get out, stay indoors and on the highest floor you can." Cat Grant continued on.

"We have to do something!" Wonder Girl said.

"What can we do?" Beast Boy asked, "it's the weather!"

"Do we have to surrender, then?" Blue Beetle asked.

"No. It's Weather Wizard." Nightwing said, "we find Weather Wizard, and everything is over in a snap."

"Alongside the weather," Cat Grant started, "another issue has everyone in Happy Harbor confused and concerned: where is the Justice League?"

"Okay, that's our cue." Nightwing said, "Aqualad. You take Lagoon Boy, Miss Martian, Superboy, Robin, Beast Boy, and Wonder Girl to help with the evacuation of the citizens."

"Where is the League?" Aqualad asked.

"Leave that to us." Nightwing answered, "go ahead." Aqualad nodded, and he led his squad outside into the storm, "Mal, I need you and Bumblebee to find all you can on where the League is right now."

"Right on it." Bumblebee complied. She and Mal pulled up their own Holo-Computers and started their thorough search.

"What do we do?" Impulse asked.

"Just stay put. We'll wait and see what will happen." Nightwing then turned his attention to the news.

"Meteorologists are doing their best to find the source of this storm. From what they have gathered, this is starting to form into a hurricane above and surrounding Happy Harbor. The eye of the hurricane is located at the memorial mountain, Mount Justice." Cat Grant announced.

"We're at the center of a hurricane? So crash!" Impulse beamed, earning him an elbow to the gut from Kid Flash.

"Oh my gosh..." Bumblebee gasped.

"No..." Mal responded.

"What did you guys find?" Nightwing asked, joining the two at one of the screens.

"They're..." Bumblebee started as she stepped aside so Nightwing could see. He read the message that they had received from Weather Wizard, and attached to the message was a picture...of the Justice League: We have your mentors. The stakes are really high, are they not? Now surrender yourselves to the Light, or say your goodbyes.
