Little Ravi loved listening to ghost stories from his grandfather. So when on his birthday, he was gifted a Labrador, he named it 'Ghost'
Ravi loved to play with his dog. Often they took Lang walks in the woods. They climbed rocks and waded through cool streams. Soon Ravi and Ghost became best friends.
All of Ravi's neighbours too liked Ghost. But uncle Ken was the kindest of all. He always had something for both of them.
'They're lucky to have each other', he often said.
One day, Ravi and Ghost were hunting for squirrels. They never caught any. But the chase was the fun part. Ghost would sniff them out. The two friends would run after the squirrel until it hid in a tree or a hole.
Suddenly, Ghost spotted a squirrel. Ghost ran around a rock. When Ravi got to the other side of the rock, he stopped. Ghost kept barking.
"Hey Ghost, what's wrong?" he asked. Ghost kept barking until Ravi saw a big black snake. Ghost had just warned Ravi. "Good boy!" Ravi said. "Come on, lets go home." That night, Ravi said good night to Ghost after he left a special treat from him in his bowl.
"See you in the morning",he said. The next morning, Ravi jumped out of the bed, and ran downstairs. He whistled for Ghost. "Gho-o-o-st! Where are you my smart boy?" Ravi yelled. But Ghost was nowhere to be found. Ravi wondered where his best friend could be. He ran to the barn to find his father. "Father, have you seen Ghost?"he asked. Ravi's father climbed down from his tractor. "Son,I found Ghost this morning. He wasn't moving at all. So I took him to Dr. Parker's house. I'm afraid there was nothing he could do."
Ravi was heartbroken. He went to his room and cried his heart out. He would miss his friend so much.
After Ghost was gone, Ravi spent most of his time alone in the woods. He walked along the creeks where he had once played with Ghost.
One day, Ravi ventured farther than he had ever gone before. He was walking along the edge of a ravine.

Suddenly, he lost his balance. Ravi's leg was twisted and scraped. He could not climb out of the ravine.
Ravi yelled for help. But no one was close enough to hear him. A few miles down, Uncle Ken was working in his vineyard. It was a very hot day. He wiped some sweat from his brow. Just then, he noticed a dog running towards him. It looked like Ravi's dog. The dog barked and barked at uncle Ken. "Hey Ghost, how're you doing?" he said. The dog continued to bark. Uncle Ken tried to drive his tractor through the rows of vines. But the dog ran right on front of the tractor's wheel.
Uncle Ken blew the tractor's horn. But the dog would not budge. Finally, Uncle Ken turned off the engine and climbed down from his tractor.
"Where's your friend? Go, find him." said Uncle Ken.
The dog was very persistent. He continued to bark at Uncle Ken. Then he ran up to him. He grabbed the man's trousers in his mouth and tried to pull him along.
"Whoa! Whoa! Okay!" said Uncle Ken. "I'm coming. Let's go."
He followed the dog through the woods. Every few feet the dog would look back at him. He wanted to make sure that the man was following him.
They came closer to the ravine. The dog disappeared. "Now where did you go?" yelled Uncle Ken. Then he heard the boy's cries.
Ravi was yelling for help. He had almost given up. Then he heard a man yelling back to him.
"Hello-o-o!" yelled Uncle Ken. "Are you hurt?"
Ravi looked up from the ledge. He could see Uncle Ken standing at the edge of the ravine. The man was peering down at Ravi. He could barely see the boy through the bushes.
"I'm okay, but my leg is hurt," Ravi yelled back. "I can't make it up there all by myself."
"Hang on," said Uncle Ken. "I'll help you up."
Then he found a strong creeper. He held one end of the creeper and threw the other end down, to Ravi.
"Use this to pull yourself up," he said.
Ravi grabbed on to the creeper. Using his good leg, Ravi pulled himself up the side of the ravine. Near the top,Uncle Ken reached over and pulled Ravi onto the rocks.
"Thank you sooo much!"said Ravi. As he tried to catch his leg, Uncle Ken helped Ravi sit on the rocks.

"Let's have a look at that leg," he said.
Ravi's leg was bleeding profusely.
"It hurts," Ravi said, "but I think I can walk." "Let's find a stick you can use as a crutch," Uncle Ken said. After finding a stick for Ravi, they started to walk slowly through the woods.
When they came to the clearing, Uncle Ken spoke. "That's some dog you got there. Where has he disappeared now?"
"What do you mean? Who's dog was it?" asked Ravi.
"I mean, you'd still be sitting there in the ravine if your dog didn't show me where you were. He came and almost barked his head off." said Uncle Ken.
Ravi could not believe what Uncle Ken was saying.
"That couldn't have been my dog, Uncle Ken," whispered the boy. "My dog died almost a month ago!"
Uncle Ken was astonished. "But I really saw your dog! It was the same!" Uncle Ravi spoke up. "Lets do one thing. I know where my father buried Ghost. Let's go and see there." said Ravi.
Uncle Ken nodded slowly and followed Ravi. Soon they reached the place. The place was very dark. The enormous trees blocked the sun rays. Ravi went near the tree where Ghost was buried. There, the saw a sight that blew their minds off.
Ghost's half was was inside the ground while the half body was outside. Beside Ghost' body, there was written, 'Together Forever'

So how was that? I know it sucked as it was my first ghost story.

But I promise that the next stories will be more creepy.
