Hike
The two little girls,
hiking in the woods,
were unaware,
of the danger they entrusted
in their care.
Did they know about the vampires and werewolves?
The shapshifters and zombies?
They do now.
The creatures emerged, from the darkness
that keeps them hidden.
The scream couldn't come out.
The girls didn't make a peep, not a sound.
It didn't matter,
no one would hear them.
The creatures attacked.
Everyone was unaware,
as these girls were engulfed by creatures of the night.
Devoured in fear,
they don't fight back.
They start to scream,
but they go unheard.
The darkness swallows them.
They go in, but they don't come out.
Are they dead?
Or are they screaming unheard?
