Erik drummed his fingers on the kitchen table, the food growing cold and himself growing impatient. His girlfriend, STELLA, promised to be home nearly and hour and a half ago. He understood she was just as busy as he was, but he couldn't help but get upset.
He wiped off some sauce from the edge of his lip and crankily dropped his plate in the sink, leaving the uneaten food (he had ordered, of course) on the table. It was one of his guilt tripping methods.
The sound of tires against gravel indicated that she was finally home--but she didn't drive. Puzzled, he peeked out the window, blood temperature rising.
Stella hopped out of a black BMW, but not before kissing whoever had drove on the cheek.
Erik opened the door before she could even knock, and Stella jumped back, surprised. "Baby, you're still awake?"
"Last time I checked, baby," Erik hissed mockingly, unmoving from the doorframe, "We had dinner tonight."
Stella's eyes widened and she slapped herself on the forehead, before softening up, "Oh, schatz, I'm so sorry I forgot. I had something up."
"Something or," he rolled his eyes, his face turning a crimson red, "Someone?"
"Erik, what are you talking about? Let me in." she frowned, trying to push past him. He obliged, letting her in before slamming the door shut, scaring even himself.
"I saw you, Stella!" he yelled, his hands balled into fists, "Who were you with?!"
Stella turned to face him, never expecting him to be this upset, and looked down at his hands. She bit her lip, unsure what to say and unable to look him in the eye.
"Are you cheating on me?" Erik finally breathed, his eyes tearing away from hers, the heat on his cheeks disappearing.
It was her turn to be upset, and she took the moment. "How dare you!" Stella shrieked, "How dare you even think of me like that!"
"It's what I saw! You kissed him on--"
"He's my bloody cousin!" she cut him off, slapping him on the cheek. Stella grabbed her bag from the floor and ran up the stairs, making sure to slam their bedroom door.

Erik sat on the couch, his head buried in his hands. Saying he was ashamed would've been an understatement. He was so caught up in being upset about dinner that he failed to let her tell him all about her cousin, who he finally remembered was visiting for the weekend.
It had been exactly 22 minutes since Stella slammed the door shut, he heard the shower running, and Stella crying. He wasn't quite sure if now would've been the perfect time to say sorry, but he was scared he'd have more to lose if he never came around to doing it.
Mustering up all the courage he had and shaking away all his pride, he rapped his knuckles against their bedroom door. "Verpiss dich!"
Erik turned the knob anyway, letting himself in. She had her back turned, her body hunched on the floor behind the bed. Erik sighed. He had made her cry yet again (the first when he accidentally poked her eye while he was tickling her. He vowed to never make her cry again).
"Liebe, I'm sorry." he whispered, sitting down beside her.
"Do you not trust me?" Stella whispered back, hurt covering her words.
Erik bit his lip, "No, baby, I trust you more than anything. I wasn't thinking straight, that's all."
"You know I would never do anything to hurt you."
"I know, liebe, that's why I'm saying sorry." he frowned, lifting her chin with his finger, causing her to face him. Her nose was red and her eyes were already swollen in just 20 minutes of crying. Erik placed a peck on her nose, "You know I love you."
Stella crinkled her nose, looking away, "I hate you, Durm."
Erik chuckled, standing up before extending a hand to help her stand as well. He patted a spot on the bed and sat in front of her, scratching on his nape. "Do you wanna know why I was so upset?"
Stella rolled her eyes, bringing her knees to her chest, "Because you don't trust me."
Erik chuckled, "We already talked about this-- Forget that. Arguments never had good timing."
Stella's eyes widened as he brought himself once again to the floor, but this time on one knee.
"Schatz, since the day I laid eyes on you, I knew I wanted you to be the one I'd spend the rest of my life with. I fell in love with your silliness, your love for food that probably outmatched my own, and every single thing you hated about yourself. You stood by me during my hate filled days-- When I could hardly even bring myself to face the mirror."
"Erik-" she gasped, a hand covering her mouth.
He fished a little box from the pocket of his jeans, and opened it, revealing a glittering diamond ring, "Let's cut to the chase," he grinned cheekily, "Will you marry me?"
It didn't take a second thought for her to launch herself onto him, her arms instantly wrapping around his neck. Stella pressed a gentle kiss on his lips, tears meeting her eyes once again, "Yes, twenty times over. I love you so much!"
"I love you more, Mrs. Durm."

(A/N): I've been so emotionally over Erik lately I just had to. I hope you like it and I'm sorry it took so long.
Love,
G.
