The wind brushed against the leaves, gently ruffling them. It was getting chilly outside, but KATHLEEN preferred it so much more compared to the elevator music constantly playing inside the Starbucks she was currently sitting outside of. She was too engrossed in her book to notice anyway. Her eyes darted across the page, eyebrows crinkling--But only a few would know she had her heart fluttering. It was the moments like these she truly appreciated.

Kathleen was in the world of dragons, knights, princesses, witches and their curses, potions, and love at first sight. She jut out her bottom lip in complete concentration. They're finally going to kiss! She giggled to herself, bringing her knees closer to her chest. She had somehow forgotten she wasn't at her couch at home. Just a little closer..

"Hey," a voice interrupted her, causing her to snap her head up, "Did you sit on sugar 'cus you've got a pretty sweet ass." A man with dark brown hair sat before her, a green tea latte gripped in one hand, car keys left on the table.

"Dios mio," Kathleen muttered, looking down at her book in hopes that he'd take a hint and leave her be. He sat there grinning at her, instead, causing her blood to boil slightly. She couldn't even focus on her book! "Can I help you?" she snapped, squinting her eyes at the man.

He chuckled, taking a sip from his latte before nodding nonchalantly, "Yeah, I seem to have gotten lost in your eyes."

Kathleen felt her face turn red but decided to shake it off; He couldn't possibly notice, now would he?

"The name's Gerard. Try remembering that." the so-called Gerard smirked, extending a hand for a shake.

"And why is that?" she replied, her eyes darting suspiciously at his hand but reached out to shake it anyway.

Gerard pulled her hand, causing her to nearly topple off her chair and leaned in to whisper in her ear, "Because you'll be screaming it all night long."

Kathleen flushed an even brighter red, quickly pulling away, "This is like--Sexual harassment."

He threw his head back in laughter, his eyes forming little crescents. "Kidding. Jokes aside, to whom do I owe the pleasure?"

"Kathleen."

Kathleen sat on the couch, the sun bathing the entire living room. Ever since she met Gerard, they grew to become the oddest of friends. He often spent his time pissing everyone off, and she spent her time apologising for him. Gerard even joked that they coexisted.

She was seated on his couch while he chattered away about who knows what--She was once again engrossed in her book.

"Kathleen." Gerard called out to his best friend, his nose crinkling once he realised she hadn't been listening the entire time. "Kathleen, you dumbass, pay attention to me."

Kathleen shook her head, "What--What, I was paying attention!"

"You were not." he jutted out his bottom lip and plopped down on the couch beside her feet. "I was telling funny pick-up lines again."

"When are you not?"

"Listen, listen! Are you a magician?" Gerard started, waiting for her to take a guess, and yet cut her off before she could even respond, "Because whenever you're around, everything disappears!"

Kathleen burst into a fit of giggles and raised her hand for a high five, "Ok, I can admit that one was cute."

"I have another one. Are you a thief, Kathleen?"

"If I say yes, can I still keep all of the sweaters you've lent me?"

"I--What. No. I mean." Gerard shook his head, scooting closer to her, "Because you stole my heart the minute you walked into the room."

Laughing, she shook her head, but she was honestly confused when he didn't laugh along with her. Gerard stared at her with round eyes, looking for a reaction. He looked down at his hands and took a deep breath, "Kathleen. Will you be my girlfrien?"

Kathleen felt herself blush. Grabbing him by the collar, she pressed her lips against his and felt him smile against it.

"I said girlfrien. Ask me where the d went." Gerard grinned cheekily, wiping at the side of her lip.

Kathleen rolled her eyes and tilted her head, pretending to be curious anyway, "Where'd the d go?"

"Don't worry, baby, you'll be getting it tonight."
