Jades pov
It was around 6pm and I still looked like a drowned rat. I sat on my small bed that I've had since I was little. This was going to be my first party since my tenth birthday. I sneaked into my dad's room and went into mums old wardrobe and searched for something to wear but everything seemed a little skimpy which made me smile since I knew my mum would definitely get this because she doesn't care what people thought of her and so do I but I wanted to keep my dignity for Carl. I found a beautiful black silk dress, it would show my back but I don't really care and it ended just above the knee and I smile and nodded as I placed the dress to my side then spotted a pair of black wedge heels with an ankle strap and a little bow in the strap,
"Cute" I muttered sarcastically I took them and closed the door then took the stuff to my room. Inside my room I set the stuff out and nodded then got my phone out and sat down so I could look up some tips on make up because I have lived with my dad for five years and barely remember my mum teaching me about make up. I started to mess around with the make up until I found the most natural but beautiful look I could pull off. I placed on the clothes and admired myself in the mirror to make sure my mind doesn't come up with sarcastic comments on how ugly I am. after a minute or two all that came to mind was I was looking sexy then I looked at the time to see it was 7:06pm and I had a long lime so I got on my phone then played COLOUR SWITCH for a while then re -read some of my books.
For a while I did do stupid stuff but then I suddenly fell asleep as if I were from a video game. My dream was amazing with Carl and I looking as if we were the prince and Cinderella and we had a ball with the evil dragon being struck down by his hand and he married me as my father was locked up forever and my mother was never dead. It was perfect in every way but reality kicked in like a footballer on steroids and hit me in the face. I looked to my clock to see it was 11:45pm and I sighed in the silence with the shrieking sound of crickets and frogs out my window then a small rock hit my window and I got up with everything still intact and I looked out to see Carl standing at his black bmw with a grin and I showed my hand to motion I will be five minutes and he nodded with a mysterious deathly grin which made me freeze for a second but I moved on to fix my hair then sneaked past my drunk dad; who is passed out on the couch.
Outside I felt my body shake from the cold merciless bitter wind. I wished I had a jacket but it was too late to turn back as I strolled up to Carl who looked partly surprised at how I was dressed since I was never good at stuff like clothes or makeup, "You look nice" he said and I felt my sarcastic side popping up but I held it down, "T-thank you, you look great as well" I said shyly and his hand crept on my bare back as he lead me to his car. In my head I was screaming for myself to break his arm but then my heart told me his is such a hottie with his sparkling green eyes. In the car I sat on the black leather seats that had heating in them,
"So where is the party?" I asked am he glanced at me as he sat in the drivers side, "The Grand Bar" he said I stared out the window to the passing cars and people and one man caught her eye as he stared right into her eyes behind his black sunglasses, which was weird because it was night. Soon the man vanished from my sight before I vanished from his, for a long time I had pondered about the man I just saw but then I brushed it off at the thought it was just a coincidence and I looked back to Carl who seemed bored and irritated like he didn't want me with him, 'I hate hot guys who are assholes!' I thought as I leaned on the passengers seat,
"So... why did you ask me to the party?" I asked, getting straight to the point, he glanced at me the huffed in a tone that told me he had no intention of telling my the truth and because of that, I can tell that he is lying,
"Because you are a pretty girl and wanted to flaunt your beauty" he said in a gentle warm voice. I looked out my window with my usual death glare, "Huh, I see no beauty... I only see fabulousness" I whispered under my breath and he chuckled slightly and the tense atmosphere slowly turned comfortable so I softened my expression and looked to him as he watched the road, he glanced over and for a split second our eyes connected and held but what I saw was not love but pity and spite,
