Running. I had to keep running. I stopped to catch my breath at the clearing near a path, I looked back to see the once proud city Tyrn Gorthad turn into ash. My home was gone just like a arrow on a bowstring shooting toward a target. I watched my home Fornost burn so my family and I fled to Tyrn Gorthad, the capital of Cardolan. We were allies with Cardolan until the city fell apart. I saw smoke rise in the air above the buildings. I sat down on a log and thought what to do. No Eighteen year old should have to go through this. Especially if the girl once lived in the castle with her dad as king. I decided to try and find other dúnedain that escaped. I stood up and started to walk to the closest town. Maybe I could stock up on some supplies. I only had a few knives which I grabbed for my defense, a useless bow without arrows in my quiver and money in my pocket, and I intended to use it. My home was gone, but dúnedain are strong. We know how to survive when all hope is lost. I walked further down the path I was headed. I must reach and warn the town of Bree close by.
