Hi.
If you've read my other stories,
You know that I type a bit weird
Sorry.
I just write exactly how I think
And that means a lot of returns and fragments and suchAlso, if you've read my stuff, you might be tired of reading this
Sorry. If this is a bit confusing,
I understand if you don't want to read the rest...
Anyway,
Here's a few facts about me (yay):1. My birth name is Alyssa.
I hate it
It makes me feel like I should be a girl
I don't mean that everyone named Alyssa is a girl,
It's just how it makes me feel2. As you can probably infer from (1), I was born with a vagina
Now,
In our (the U.S) society,
That means you're labeled as "girl" at birth
It means you're put into dresses
And given names like Alyssa
It means that you're expected to be pretty
Expected to cover up for the boys
Expected to be into pink
Expected to gossip and go to the mall and have slumber parties
Expected to be moody for one week every month
Expected to be daintyBut that's not me
That's not all girls anyway
But that's another topicMy point is:
We're assigned personalities at birth
We're put into colors that tell everyone what genitals we have
We're given names that make us feel like we need to be a certain waySome people are okay with being girls in this society
And that's okay
It's just not me.3. Address me as Sunshine
Or Lord Sunshine
But Sunshine is fine
Also, I prefer they or them from strangers but if I know you I'm okay with anythingBut really,
How hard is it to just address someone by their name?4. I'm 16 and still in high school
I'm not a professional anything by any means5. I'm only starting this because I feel the need to vent
I need to learn to accept myself
And I know how difficult it is to be constantly in fear that someone might not accept me
I go to school everyday and constantly get called "Alyssa"
I supposed a lot of people have similar problems
So,
I'm making this public
For anyone who needs reassurance that they're not alone.....
Thanks.
