"What's in this again?" Caroline asks gesturing to the hot dog she's holding.

"Well mostly a mash of intestines, some bladders," The Doctor begins listing off everything in the hot dog.

"Doctor! She's eating. We don't want her to throw up," Lex scolds laughing as they sit down on the soft grass in central park. Not as worried about muggers in the middle of the night than they should be.

"Don't worry it's much better than all the food back home," Caroline says.

"You're remotely calm for someone 600 years in their future and in an alternate universe," the Doctor points out.

"Yeah why is that?" Lex asks.

"Trust me, I'm freaking out on the inside," she says taking another bite of her hot dog.

"One sec," she says pulling out her ringing phone. "Hey Kat?" Lex says answering it.

"What's that rectangle thing?" Caroline asks the Doctor quietly.

"Cell phone, allows you to talk to whomever you wish, wherever they are," the Doctor whispers back.

"Well I want one," Caroline says impressed.

"Who was that?"  The Doctor asks once Lex hangs up.

"That was Kat. Apparently she wants us all back at the apartment and she has great news," Lex tells the others.

"Aww, I was exploring," The Doctor says, well, whines.

"Yeah, me too," Caroline agrees.

"Haha don't worry we'll take the long way," Lex says.

"Yay," Caroline says with a smile.

"Allons-y," the Doctor says jumping to his feet and Lex does a spit take with her water. "What? Go down the wrong pipe?" The Doctor asks with concern.

"No it's just, I've always wanted to hear you say that," Lex laughs as they begin walking back onto the streets of New York City.

"Okay, if you were Sherlock Holmes where would you go?" Kat mutters more to herself than Klaus when they see that Sherlock, John, and James hadn't made it to the nearest police station.

She frowns and mutters, "This would be so much easier if you didn't forget your damn phone James. Come on let's start by retracing our steps. NO HE DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOU! FOR GOD'S SAKE GO STALK ONE DIRECTION OR SOMETHING!" Kat yells at another group of gawking teenaged girls asking for a picture with Joseph Morgan.

She looks around and her eyes stop on a storefront with dark windows one holding a spidery crack in front. The problem, Kat saw the store earlier. It was open and there was an absence of bullet holes.

"Come on," she says running across the street and flipping off a taxi driver that beeped. So what she wasn't in the crosswalk and he probably had places to be. She shakes her head seeing a man's silhouette inside. A tall man's silhouette. She walks inside the unlocked door and blinks at James's unconscious form.

"Who died?" Kat asks walking over to John who's busy taking James's pulse.

"Store owner was murdered not too long ago," John says nodding to where Sherlock is standing.

"And James passed out from the blood?" Kat concludes and John nods. Kat smirks and walks over to Sherlock her eyebrows raising at the dead body. There's a lot more blood than on tv. "So what happened?"

"Shot in the back of the head. He used to be part of a group of chinese smugglers," he says.

"Mark on his heel?" Kat asks excitedly and he nods.
