At the crime scene, Lilly stood back, watching John and Sherlock with interest. As John took a look around the damaged house, Sherlock inspected the stove top again. This time he was paying particularly close attention to the discarded pan.

John stood next to the opposite wall, picking a framed photo from the ground and examining it. Lily smiled as she watched him; John had been through a lot in his lifetime, it was nice to see him happy.

Suddenly Sherlock dropped the pan and straightened up. The loud noise made by the pan got John's attention; he set the picture down hastily and joined Sherlock by the stove.

"The murderer hit her with the pan, knocked her unconscious, then proceeded to start a fire, using some form of grease to do so. The fire was an attempt to clean up the crime scene and kill her at one time. Fascinating."

Lilly nodded, "it would have been written off as an accident if she hadn't of happened to have a paranoid sister certain that it was murder. Brilliant."

Sherlock glanced at her quizzically. It was unusual to find another person who enjoyed a good murder, well, other than a murderer that is.

"Fascinating? Brilliant? You two realize you're talking about a murder, right?" John sighed heavily, "maybe you two shouldn't spend time together after all,"

Sherlock and Lilly paid no mind to John's comments, swept up in the thrill of a case.

"It was definitely murder. Scotland Yard misses the most important details once again. Now we just need to find out what she started doing to get all that money,"

"Her sister said that she was a gambler, how do we know she didn't get the money from winning a couple games, then lost it all and was killed by some junkie when she couldn't pay up?" John said.

"No, this was too neat, and there were no signs of a burglary. If she'd owed them money I doubt they would have left her expensive necklace lying on her body to be destroyed in the fire. They probably wouldn't have left the television, and all that new jewelry in her room either,"

"Jewelry?"

Sherlock answered him simply, "saw the remains of it on her dresser as we walked through the house earlier,"

"Nothing was stolen then?" Lilly asked Sherlock.

"Miss Brown didn't mention anything. I need to find out all her recent purchases," Sherlock was distracted by a sudden thought. "John phone her. Ask if her sister had anything that she'd kept with her at all times. Something like a phone, or a tablet. I need to do something,"

Sherlock flipped his collar up and left the burnt house in a rush. Lilly looked at John's annoyed face.

"Yeah he left us," he sighed, "we might as well get going,"

So the two left the home together, taking a cab back to John's.

Lilly and John talked quickly when they were in the cab. Although they had been apart for years, it was easy for them to talk like no time had passed at all.

Eventually the talk did turn back to the case at hand, "so how are we supposed to contact Amelia Brown? She didn't give us her mobile number or any information."

"Oh leave that to me, John. I'll put my super secretary skills to work and find her." Lilly winked at him and hopped out of the stopped cab.

Together they approached John's front door. He pulled his keys out of his pocket and put them in the key hole, unlocking the door.
