Sherlock stumbled down the stairs, entering the flat and making a beeline to his chair. He grabbed a cup of tea that Mrs. Hudson had brought up earlier and glanced around the strangely empty room. Sherlock stood up, Lilly was usually awake by now. He entered the kitchen and peered down the hall at his closed bedroom door.
Sherlock brushed away the uneasiness and strode to the door, opening it roughly. He peeked inside, coming face to face with a startled Lilly.
"What are you doing?" she asked, stepping back so that there was adequate room between them.
Sherlock dropped his hand from the doorknob, "I was coming to check on you. Normally you're awake."
She smiled rather sheepishly, a tad embarrassed, "I slept in late today,"
"Oh," they stood awkwardly, "okay, then," Sherlock said, turning around and walking back to his chair. Lilly followed on her crutches slowly.
"I'm going to take a shower," Lilly said, stopping at the bathroom door, "then I have a doctor's appointment in a little bit, so I'll be gone for a while, okay Sherlock?"
"Yeah, yeah whatever," Sherlock replied, waving a hand dismissively.
Lilly shook her head, fully aware that he hadn't listened to a word she said. Smiling lightly, she entered the bathroom and pulled her clothes from her body. She struggled momentarily to fit her pants around her cast and discarded those too on the cold tile floor of the bathroom.
Once fully stripped of her sleeping clothes, Lilly moved to the shower, turning the water on so that it was steaming. She knew it wasn't healthy for her skin, but she adored burning hot showers since she was young.
When the water reached an acceptable temperature, Lilly climbed in, being careful not to slip. She rested on her good leg, washing up slowly, enjoying the sense of peacefulness that only a warm shower could bring.
She closed her eyes, standing under the shower head, not thinking about anything in particular. As the water began to grow cold, Lilly reluctantly got out and turned the water off. She dried slowly and took her time dressing, heading to the fridge once she was finished to get some breakfast.
Sherlock was silently typing away at his laptop while she sifted through the stray body parts and scraps of food the refrigerator. Eventually Lilly gave up at finding anything and left to go to her doctors appointment without eating.
