Vincent's P.O.V.

Fifteen days and fourteen nights I've been training. My face was swollen shut the first night. Butch was training me and I wasn't sure if he was just beating on me or training be but after today I finally know what he is doing.

He it beating me down until I can't pick myself up every night. Until I can take the punches and fight back.

I'm drained mentally and physically.

I go to see Ace everyday but sometimes I hope she don't wake up right now so she doesn't see me like this. I'm doing this for her and when she wakes up I want to be better for her.

"Vincent!" Robert shouts. He must have been standing there a long time because he never raises his voice with me.

"What?" I asked taking another bite on my pancake.

"Boy you look like hell." He says sitting down.

"Thanks. Isn't this how Ace looked?" I ask.

"She looked worse but she was already broken down so we just had to build her up." He said, pouring a pot of coffee.

My blood started to boil. He knew she was broken down but he let her get beat up more. What made him not comfort her?

"Why was she already broken?" I ask again.

Shaking his head he gets up and starts to head to his office. Hell no. I hop up to catch up then step in front of him to out my hand in his chest.

"Wait I asked you, why she was already broken?" I repeat in an angry voice.

"Come sit down." He points toward his office. He quickly steps around me and into his office.

"Take a seat. I've been slow to pack up the office since Ace is taking her time sleeping in a hospital bed." He chuckles. After Robert retired he planned on going to the Caribbean's for "vacation" but he probably wont return. So he is stepping in for Ace.

"Well." I finally realized he still hasn't answered.

"My best friend, we grew up together. Our dads were even best friends. He was my right hand. He pulled me together when Ace's mom died." He adjusted his tie. "After my wife died when I left for business he'd stay with Ace. So when Ace was about twelve years old she started have little bruises all over different spots of the body. I'd ask her and said say she fall or something. I believed her I mean she was twelve. I noticed she wasn't smiling as much and believe me if you ever get her real smile the world will stop. But one day I went on a business trip she begged me not to leave her and when I got home my daughter was bleeding from a certain parts of the body. They were in her room, he was on the floor with his pants to the floor and a bullet in his head." When Robert finished he walked out the room.

I never thought I'd ever see tears in his eyes but I have now.

Five days later and I can feel myself changing. I didn't care about who was in front of me or whose face a was pounding in. All I can thinking about is being better for Ace when she wakes up, hopefully soon. I've had doctors in the hospital ask me about my bruised up face and body. I tell them lies or get mad and start to yell at them. I can usually control my anger but I seem to be like a short fuse lately and I need to control that to.

Now waiting in the car with butch for our target. He usually has four other men with him. He was on our territory, from what I learned you can come over to our territory as long as your not selling something over here. Well he is selling heroin.

He starts to walk down the side walk. Our car doors slam I move in a faster then Butch.

"Vincent!" Butch yelled.

I grab the guys shoulder and turn him around. As he took my fist to his face, I stood back up with four guns pointed at my head.

"Hey guys lets all calm down." I say raising my hands.

"Not so fast." Butch said holding up two guns aimed at two of them.

All four of them turned their heads. How pathetic? Even I knew that you shouldn't do that. I pulled out my guns and pointed at the back of the other two heads. With one nod of my head all four of them fell life less to the ground.

"Hurry." Butch said putting his gun away and putting the only alive one over his shoulder. Butch threw him in the trunk as I started the engine.

My phone started to ring. "What?" I asked rudely.

"It's Ace." Roberts deep voice came threw the phone.

I sped up, well over the speed limit. As I pulled into the hospital I barely put the car in park before the car door opened and I hopped out.

"Drive him home then come back to Ace." I tell Butch. He nods, then I turn and head into the hospital.
