Love. A four letter word that gets tossed around way to often.
I don't think people realize how strong love is, or how weak and useless it is. Love can be a fortress and protect you from anything. But, love can also be used like a sheet to cover a mess up; a mess that never gets cleaned.
I've been through 'love' way to many times. I swore after my 2nd relationship that I wasn't meant be with anyone. Just like any hopeless romantic girl. That is until, I saw him.
Alex Babinski.
Before I get to that, let's go back a bit.
A few months ago...
I walked into the room where I was supposed to meeting with a band and their manager so I can take some shots of them and possibly direct their first music video.
The band was called 'PVRIS'. There was something familiar about the name, but I just couldnt point it out. Pretty interesting name if you ask me, but I'm not complaining, at least its a job opportunity.
You see, I work for a small photography business that rarely gets any work because its so new. How this opportunity came to me is a fucking miracle.
Anyway, I looked up the band and it says that their from Massachusetts. I lived there for awhile, but moved once I graduated. I rarely had any friends, except for these three people that were interested in music like me. But, I've tried so hard to forget everything from then on. I've been pretty successful.
I didn't have time to research anymore about them because a tall guy walked through the door. I quickly stood up and wiped my hands on my skinny jeans.
"You must be, Leah? Correct?"
I stretched out my arm for a handshake.
"Yeah, that's me,"
"Alright, well as I had said in my e-mail. We've been looking for a photographer to take some local shots of the band,"
"Yeah,"
"Well, speaking of the band they're here right now. I figured you could meet with them before doing any shots or making agreements,"
I nodded, "I completely agree. Thank you, again so much for inviting me here,"
"Of course! Don't think I haven't seem some of your photos and editing skills," he said smiling. "I'll be back with the band,"
He walked out the door and I instantly became nervous. More than ever before, even though this job is well paying and the manager basically told me he likes my photography.
I wiped my palms on my jeans for about the third time and heard the door opening.
A girl walked through the door. She was wearing all black, black cropped muscle shirt, black high-waisted shorts, black thigh high socks, and all-black vans. Her hair was in a bun with both sides of her head shaved, as well as her eyebrow and she wore some black sunglasses .She seemed familiar just like the band name, familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.
She walked to me and smiled. She held out her hand, "Hi, I'm Lynn."
Before I could answer, two other boys, also wearing all black, walked in, laughing at a conversation that happened before they arrived. I got a clear shot of who the two boys were, and it all clicked.
I was speechless at the fact that my three friends from highschool were standing right in front me. They were the only reason I would've stayed in Massachusetts. I was heartbroken that once I left none of them stayed in contact. It's all clear now that they were obviously busy becoming, well, PVRIS.
