AN:
This is just a quick thing. I just wanted to say that I will try to update as much as possible. Thanks for reading!~~~~~~
The shwarma was good, as always, but I'm ninety percent sure that Tony was drunk. Sometime during dinner, he was going on and on about how he was going to get a dog and name it Shwarma in honor of this "fine establishment," as he put it.
Everybody, with the exception of Pepper, was ignoring him. Nat and Clint sat quietly, catching up and talking about her mission. I always thought they would be a good couple, but stupid Clint had to go and get married.
Thor, on the other hand, was stuffing his face like a greedy pig, which wasn't new. Bruce just stared at his laptop, barely moving. He hasn't even looked at his plate. Steve, who was on my left, was quickly falling asleep.
I leaned over, putting my mouth near his ear, and took a deep breath.
"Steven Grant Rogers!" I yelled as loud as I could. He yelped and jumped up, banging into the the table and spilling his half eaten plate of shwarma. I couldn't help but to laugh until my side's hurt.
"Analiegh Margaret Rogers!" Steve shouted, attemping to clean his lap. On the other side of the table, Nat was laughing with me and Tony was taking pictures. "Whatever," Steve said, clearly annoyed. "Just say goodbye to everyone and get your stuff."
"Aww, but Steve-" I started.
"No buts, just hurry up," he called over his shoulder as he walked to the men's room.
"Well, bye guys," I said as I passed out hugs. Tony smelt like he was bathed in alcohol and I backed out quickly. I hugged Nat and she hugged me back tightly. I tried to hug Clint, but he was akward as always and just let me hug him. Thor, however, nearly broke every bone in my body. I was planning on hugging Bruce, but decided against it since he hasn't looked up for the computer screen since we got here.
"Alright Ana, let's go. Bye guys," Steve said coming out of the bathroom.
"Bye everyone," I said cheerfully before hopping up. "Hey Steve, bet I'll beat you home!" I yelled bolting out of the restaurant.
"Oh, you're on kid," he said before running after me, laughing.
Well, he wasn't really running. More like jogging, but he still beat me by a long shot. When I showed up, two minutes later and out of breath, Steve was sitting on the couch.
"What, you getting sleepy," He asked with a small smirk.
"Says the old man who fell asleep at dinner," I replied sarcastically. He looked over at me, still smirking. I knew what was about to come. "No, no, no. Steve, don't even think abo-"
I was cut short as Steve tackled me into the couch, tickling my sides. I laughed and yelled, begging for mercy. Finally, he pulled me up off the couch, letting me catch my breath.
"Okay, kiddo. It's getting late. Go ahead and go throw some pajamas on." It was only like 9:30, but that was apparently late for Steve.
"Fine," I responded, dragging the word out. He looked at me, his eyes saying not to argue. I got up off the couch I had settled back on, headed towards my room. I grabbed a random pair of pajamas and threw them on. I made my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Then realisation hit me like a ton of bricks.
'I was going to be thirteen in a week and a half,' I thought excitedly. I never knew why, but thirteen had always been an important number to me. It somehow felt significant. Like something big was supposed to happen.
"Steve!" I yelled loudly. I could hear his pounding footsteps as he ran to my bathroom.
"What Analeigh?" He asked me, out of breath. I was practically bouncing up and down.
"What day is only a week and a half away?" A look of thoughtfulness crosses his face as he pondered the question. I knew he was faking it, though.Steve always remembered my birthday.
He broke into a lopsided grin that I had grown so accustomed to. "Only the day that my little girl turns 13," he said, faking tears. He scooped me up into a bear hug, "crying" on my shoulder.
"Steve," I whine, "let go."
"Ok, ok, just hurry up kid. We got to wake up kinda early," He stated. I grew curious; we didn't have to go to SHIELD tomorrow, so I wondered what he could have planned. I didn't bother asking, though; I knew he wouldn't tell me.
I fell asleep thinking about what Captain America could have in store for me.AN: filler chapter, sorry guys. Thanks for reading my story. Hope you enjoy!
