Harry's POV
"If she's a cool counselor," He uses air quotes, "Then you will need to give some proof."
"I guess I'll just have to get some then."
Louis walks away in the direction of camp. I wait a couple minutes before I go to because I don't feel like walking with him right now. I can't believe he doubted me. We're best friends. Fuck, we're closer than best friends, we are brothers. He's one of my best lads. Now I just need a way to make his see than Eve isn't bad.
Eve's POV
I'm in my cabin which is mostly empty except for the one person looking through their bags. I get up and walk out. I check the clock again; it's almost 6. I've mostly been wandering around after taking a long shower. I really needed it. I would go to the lounge, but I don't want anyone to catch me there. Yeah I know I'm a counselor, but I'm starting to get the feeling that I don't want to be one. If I was a regular camper, I could hang out with people and enjoy myself without them being afraid to really talk to me about stuff. The only reason Zayn told me about his plan to get the gun was because he doesn't know I'm one. And I'm pretty sure that if he knew, he definitely would not have told me.
"You better come on if you want to get some good food for dinner." A short girl says. She must've been the one in the cabin.
I follow her to the cafeteria, but don't walk in with her. She doesn't notice, and keeps walking. I look around to find where I'm going to sit. I see Kay waving her hands in the air and immediately rush to her table. She's seated with two other girls. I take a seat next to one of the unknowns.
"Thank gosh. I finally found you. Where have you been all day?"
"I could ask you the same thing. I was hanging out with a few people in the woods."
I see a shocked face on Kay's face. Before she can find the words, the girl next to her says, "So you're the almighty Eve. She's told us about you." She puts her hands in the air, "My names Jenna."
"Cool. I hope she didn't say anything bad about me." We laugh.
"And this is Faith." Kay announces, pointing to the preppy red head. She waves to me. "I have to ask Eve, who were you in the woods with?"
As soon as she finishes her sentence someone plops down right next to me. "Hey Eve. Long time no see." Harry has a big grin on his face. The rest of the girls at the table stare at him in awe.
"Um, hey. It hasn't really been that long, just a few hours." I explain.
He moves along the conversation, "Looks like you haven't got your food yet. How about I take you?" He doesn't get me a chance to reply when he yanks me up and guides me to the food.
"What's the big idea." I ask, clearly shocked.
"You're my friend, right?" He looks at me. I turn away and grab a tray.
"Yeah." I shakily respond.
"Then I wanna eat lunch with you, since we are friends. And maybe you could introduce me to those other girls. They seem kinda shy." He twists around to glance at my friends.
"Sure, but they're not shy," I grab a hot dog and put it on my tray along with my juice, "they just weren't expecting you." I defend them. I know for a fact that Kay isn't shy, and I'm positive that Jenna, who introduced herself, isn't shy either. The other girl, Faith, may be.
We go down the lines quietly, him watching me choose my food. When I'm done I have a hot dog, juice, a little salad and a couple cookies. If I'm still hungry when I finish this I'll get some more.
We make our way back to the table. Just like Harry asked, I introduce him. The girls all say hey in unison. Kay makes a, this guy is too cute, face and I laugh. We all eat our food enjoying little conversation.
Harry reaches over onto my tray and snags a cookie. "Hey!" I exclaim, glaring at him. He quickly shoves the cookie in his mouth. I hit his arm, "You could've got a cookie when we were up there."
He makes a pouty face, "But I didn't."
I say, whatever, and finish my hot dog. "Faith," She quickly looks to me, "Where are you from?" She's been the quietest so far.
"I'm from here." she laughs.
"Yeah, dumb question." I look down. Of course she's from here. We're at camp. Why wouldn't she be from here. I barely touch my salad, when I finish everything else. I'm just not in a salad mood, if that's even a thing.
Harry's been done with his food for a while. He grabs my tray and his the gets up. I watch his as he walks away.
"Oh my gosh!!! He is gorgeous! Was he one of the people in the woods?"
"He is hotter than hot. Please tell me you two aren't a thing."
They bombard me with questions about Harry. "Yes, he was one of the people I went with, and no we're not a thing."
"Well did you guys, you know, do anything?" Kay winks. I feel the green eyed boy return to my left side.
I dismiss her completely crazy question, "Well I better get going. I have... stuff to do." I stand up and slowly walk away.
I hear Harry tell them, "I've got to get back to Louis."
I'm out of the lunchroom when Harry returns to my side again. I don't acknowledge his presence. I walk, not having any particular place to go and he follows. To get him off my tail I head for the counselor's lounge. He's not allowed in there.
I swing open the door and step in. A happy Brook runs over to me. I see the door slightly open, then close all of a sudden.
"Hey. You ran off all of a sudden in the middle of your tour."
"Yeah, I had something to take care of."
"Cool, so now you can hang with us!" She gestures to the people in the room. I didn't notice there were so many counselors.
Brook pulls me to the group of counselors, and tries to introduce me. Not one of the names sticks.
I sink back and try to relax on the couch. They all look really nice and happy, while I'm sitting down with a headache not having any fun. Though, their fun is so innocent. Card games, jokes, seeing who can drink a can of coke the fastest. That last one makes me a bit sick to my stomach, just thinking about attempting it.
Brook sits down next to me, giggling. "Why are you so grumpy? It's like a party in here."
In my head I think, Yeah, a nine year old's party, but I actually say, "I just have a headache. I'm not up for all the yelling."
"Oh you poor thing. Let me walk you to your cabin." She practically drags me off the couch, and stiff arms us out the door. We get halfway to the cabin when I hear a familiar voice call my name.
I jerk around to see Zayn coming to me. He slows down when he sees Brook.
